Nexon's new MMORPG 'Overgeared' will officially launch at midnight on November 26.
Overgeared announced its official release date during its 'Over World' online showcase held on November 5. The game adapts core elements of the original work into an MMORPG format, featuring gear-centric progression, distinct combat, and both cooperation and competition among players.
The game is a new title being developed based on the web novel and webtoon IP 'Overgeared'. Overgeared follows the adventures of protagonist Shin Youngwoo, who changes class to 'Pagma's Successor' in the virtual reality game Satisfy and grows stronger by collecting rare items. The web novel concluded in April 2024, while the webtoon is currently serialized on KakaoPage. An anime adaptation was released on the 2nd.
The original IP accumulated a combined 1.3 billion views across KakaoPage web novels and webtoons and achieved the No. 1 popularity ranking on the Asian web novel platform Wuxiaworld. On Japan's Piccoma platform, it achieved 85.28 million cumulative likes and won a Piccoma Award 2023.
Overgeared is developed by Gray Games and published by Nexon. Service will be provided on PC and mobile cross-platform across South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. The game delivers the original IP's core appeal through gear growth systems, combat utilizing God Hands, large-scale cooperative content, and a Dimension system that combines inter-server interaction and competition.
