Cygames has launched Where the Seeds Fall, the first game under its new CygamesEdge brand, on PlayStation 5 (PS5), Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam. It costs $9.99.
According to a release, the PS5 and Steam versions went live on November 4th. The Switch 2 version was set for 12 a.m. PST on November 5th. The game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB. CygamesEdge is a Cygames label meant for small and mid-sized teams. The developers are CygamesEdge and ZEREO.
Where the Seeds Fall is an action-adventure about falling. Players drop through the branches of the World Tree with a mysterious “Fell Child.” They have to watch crumbling platforms and strong winds so they land on solid ground.
Story and what comes after the credits
The setting is a world hit by Blight. People have built new homes on the World Tree. The protagonist, a man who has lost everything, meets a Fell Child branded as an omen of disaster. She looks like the daughter he once had, so he breaks orders and escorts her toward the surface.
The main story takes about three hours, per the Steam store page. After that, higher-difficulty maps and time trials stay open, the release says.
Opening movie and the CygamesEdge brand
Cygames also posted an opening movie on YouTube. It introduces the story and the world. More updates are on the CygamesEdge site, YouTube, X and Discord, according to the release.
CygamesEdge's tagline is “Stay on the edge.” The brand is built to give smaller teams room for unique, experimental titles, with a focus on strong core mechanics, the Cygames announcement says. Product details are on the official Where the Seeds Fall page.
