NEXUS and Lepor Games have launched the global version of Astellia2, a mobile and PC massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) built on the Astellia IP, with blockchain rewards tied to the ONEchain ecosystem.
According to a release, the game comes in two versions: one for Korea and a global build with blockchain features. It is out now on ONEstore, Google Play and PC. The official key art lists November 5th as the grand open date.
MMORPGs are online games in which large numbers of players share one persistent world and grow their characters alongside (or against) each other.
Players build characters across six classes, among them Knight, Berserker, Scholar and Mage, each with its own strengths. Boss content mixes co-op and competition; in Boss Subjugation and Boss Contest, players team up with or compete against others.
Tokenomics and ONEstore programs
The global version's main hook is its tokenomics, the rules for how a game's crypto token is earned and spent. Players finish in-game missions to climb the seasonal rankings. Those results can then be converted into the game token AtraX ($AtraX) for use across the ONEchain ecosystem.
NEXUS is also running player programs with ONEstore, the Korean app store it acquired. ONEquest, ONEstore's participatory promotion program, gives out rewards for a range of gameplay missions. ONEwave, a streamer platform, supports global creators who share guides and videos for the game.
Astellia M crossover and launch coupon
A crossover event with the previous title, Astellia M, is underway. Players receive reward items and in-game cash in Astellia2 based on their contribution in Astellia M, a way to bring longtime fans of the series over to the new game.
To mark the launch, ONEstore is giving a 15% discount coupon to players who download Astellia2 for the first time or make an in-game purchase.
“Astellia2 is the first game to launch on the ONE platform, which became full-stack with our acquisition of ONEstore,” said Henry Chang, CEO of NEXUS. “Players will get the best experience on every platform: Korea and global markets, Web2 and Web3, and mobile and PC.”
Inven Global covered the game's pre-registration in October. More details and the PC launcher are on the official Astellia2 website.
