Anime streaming platform Crunchyroll has partnered with Coupang Play to introduce the 'Crunchyroll Pass.' Through the Crunchyroll Pass, popular and trending titles from Crunchyroll—including 'Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc' and 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle Part 1'—will be available to watch on Coupang Play.
The lineup also includes 'Iron Wok Jan!', which depicts fierce battles between chefs; 'Let's Go Kaikijo', a supernatural comedy anime following a ghost-fearing protagonist swept into the world of spirits and strange entities; and 'Overgeared ~The Power of Items~', an action-fantasy anime telling the story of a gamer who gains extraordinary abilities inside a game.
Through this partnership, Crunchyroll will expand its reach with domestic Korean viewers, while Coupang Play bolsters its animation lineup alongside its existing original content, live sports broadcasts, movies, and drama series. By combining Crunchyroll's anime content with Coupang Play's streaming service, the two companies plan to enable domestic users to access and enjoy a wide variety of anime more conveniently.
Akshat Sahu, Head of Asia, Middle East, and North Africa (MENA) at Crunchyroll, said, "Today’s anime fans are engaging with and enjoying anime in more ways than ever before, including through platforms, content formats, and community activities. Crunchyroll's goal is to allow fans to naturally enjoy anime at the touchpoints they encounter in their daily lives."
He added, "Through our collaboration with Coupang Play, we will keep pace with how Korean viewers consume content while continuing to broaden opportunities to experience anime."
A representative from Coupang Play stated, "We are delighted to introduce Crunchyroll's anime, which boasts a global fandom, to Coupang Play customers. We will deliver streaming quality and high-profile titles that meet the high expectations of domestic anime fans."
