Dplus KIA claimed their first victory with a comeback win against G2 Esports in their opening Swiss Stage match of the 2026 LoL World Championship (Worlds), held at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas.

In the matchup between DK and G2, G2 seized early momentum ahead of the first dragon by taking down DK's bot duo in a 4v4 fight excluding top, and then catching ShowMaker's Syndra in mid. Fortunately for DK, they secured the first dragon. Despite giving up early kills, DK managed their macro play decently well. However, G2 set up their next play as SkewMond's Jarvan IV ganked mid to force out Syndra's Flash.
Although DK stacked two dragons, G2 took control of the macro and took down the Rift Herald. By the 18-minute mark, G2 held a lead of around 3,000 gold as both teams postured for position ahead of the next dragon. However, Hans Sama's Kalista killed Siwoo's Olaf, allowing G2 to claim the dragon. Despite being at a numerical disadvantage, DK attempted to engage using Poppy's ultimate as a wildcard, but suffered even heavier losses instead.
Holding the initiative, G2 pushed their opponents out of mid, took vision control, and started attacking Baron. Realizing this, DK responded quickly and attempted to contest by starting Baron themselves, but the move carried high risk and forced them to retreat. Though in a tough spot, Career's Poppy successfully targeted Hans Sama's Kalista for a shutdown kill, allowing DK to gradually narrow the gold gap through steady macro play.
Following an even trade in another skirmish near Baron, both teams headed toward dragon. There, DK delivered a clean, decisive teamfight win for the first time in a while, pushed all the way to destroy the Nexus in a single rush, and closed out a thrilling comeback victory.
