Sad Cat Studios' 'REPLACED' took home three awards at CEEGA 2026, the Central & Eastern European Game Awards, including the coveted Best Game title.
On October 23, the 9th Central & Eastern European Game Awards (CEEGA) ceremony was held during Poznań Game Arena (PGA) in Poznań, Poland.
CEEGA is an annual gaming awards event launched in 2018 to highlight game developers and titles from Central and Eastern Europe. Organized by Poland's Creative Industries Institute (Instytut Przemysłów Kreatywnych), the winners are selected by a panel of judges consisting of industry professionals and video game journalists from across the region.
At this year's ceremony, 'REPLACED' emerged as a triple winner, securing Best Game alongside awards for Design and Narrative. The title was nominated across six total categories, including Visual Art, Audio, and Technology.
'REPLACED' is a 2.5D cinematic action-platformer developed by Belarusian studio Sad Cat Studios. At CEEGA 2026, it earned Best Game honors over fellow nominees including 'Cronos: The New Dawn', 'Dying Light: The Beast', and 'Mafia: The Old Country'.
Polish developers also delivered strong performances. Fumi Games' 'MOUSE: P.I. For Hire' took home the award for Visual Art, Bloober Team's 'Cronos: The New Dawn' won for Audio, and Techland's 'Dying Light: The Beast' earned the accolade for Technology.
In the 'Code the Rights' category selected by human rights organization Amnesty International, Amanita Design's 'Phonopolis' was named Best Game, while Atomic Wolf's 'LIBERATED' received a Special Award.

The ceremony was attended by government officials and game industry leaders, including Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage Marta Cienkowska, who presented the Best Game award.
Notably, veteran adventure game developer Steve Meretzky took the stage to present the Narrative award.
Meretzky co-developed the 1984 text adventure game 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' at Infocom alongside the original novel's author, Douglas Adams.
Before handing out the award, Meretzky commended developers who craft exceptional narratives, remarking that interactivity and non-linear structures make storytelling in games even more challenging.
In total, CEEGA 2026 presented winners across 10 categories, including 8 core competitive categories and 2 special categories sponsored by Amnesty International.
