Smilegate has revealed hunting ground and equipment balance improvements along with October update plans for its MMORPG, Eclipse: The Awakening. Rewards and quality-of-life features will be adjusted on October 14, followed by the introduction of cross-server guild content on October 28.
The October 14 update strengthens gold acquisition and boss equipment rewards. Gold drop amounts in dungeons will be increased overall, with larger boosts applied to inter-server dungeons and "hotspots." The board game-style event "Dodor's Adventure," starting on the same day, allows players to earn approximately 50 million gold as a completion reward through repeated participation.
Field bosses will now drop at least three types of equipment, guild bosses at least two types, and dungeon boss equipment drops will be expanded to four types. The chance of obtaining Hero-grade or higher items from field bosses will be increased, and the equipment drop rate for the daily boss Laserien will also receive a major boost. A guaranteed drop of one Hero-grade equipment piece will apply to Tulkan, Balakhaze, and Cassiel. Guild bosses will have their threshold for dropping Rare-grade or higher items lowered by two stages, while Stigmata rewards will also be increased. These adjustments further enhance equipment rewards while maintaining the existing drop rates of current items.
In hunting grounds, the entry level requirement for Dragon's Sanctuary will be lowered by three levels and its EXP gain increased, narrowing the difficulty gap between it and the Land of Origin. Hotspot monsters in Eternal Land of Origin, Dragon's Sanctuary, and Celestial Ruins will have their HP decreased and EXP increased. In Celestial Ruins, a mini-boss will be added in early November to address the high entry barrier for the main boss, Cassiel.
The World Boss participation reward chest will now include the "Horn of Dawn." Using this item inside the Guild Fortress summons named monsters and Golden Sheep, as well as a "Dawn Boss" at a low probability. The Dawn Boss has been designed with lower HP and rewards compared to existing field bosses.
Boss spawn times will be adjusted to after 9:00 PM starting on October 14. Laserien on the 2nd floor of the Altar of Blood Seal will spawn daily at 9:00 PM. Tulkan on the 5th floor of Eternal Land of Origin will move from Sunday at 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, while Balakhaze on the 5th floor of Dragon's Sanctuary will move from Saturday at 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Cassiel on the 1st floor of the weekly dungeon will also see its spawn time shifted from Friday at 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
The spawn cycle for Abyss will also be shortened. Baritan will change from 8 hours to 4 hours, Eldar from 15 hours to 8 hours, and Kastian from 20 hours to 12 hours. Level brackets will be adjusted to Levels 50, 65, and 80. For the highest bracket, stats will be reduced while only HP is increased, expanding opportunities for players to obtain participation rewards.
For quality-of-life improvements, the preset selection system for tabbed content such as "Tablet" and "Potential" will be modified. Instead of the existing unified change method, players will be able to select individual presets for each tab. Balance adjustments for Unique-grade equipment options will also be carried out.
For subsequent updates, new side quests will be added on October 21, while cross-server guild content, a Halloween-themed event, and new skins will be unveiled on October 28. A server transfer feature is also in preparation. The cross-server guild content is weekly content where representative guilds from each server compete, with neutral guilds also able to contribute to server scores by completing weekly missions.
Guild competition begins with preliminaries held from Monday to Friday, where daily mission rankings are combined to determine guild and server rankings. In the Saturday selection match, the top three guilds from the preliminaries compete with the goal of capturing the center of the conquest battle first, selecting one representative guild for the server. In the finals held on the same day, representative guilds from three servers will compete. The final rankings are calculated by combining the finals results with the preliminary rankings, with Sunday operated as a rest period.
Quality-of-life improvements for the item collection feature are scheduled for November. The maximum number of multi-select purchases in the Exchange Market will be expanded to 10, with 8 displayed on screen. Improvements will allow players to view items without applying enhancement value filters. Expanding the size of the mobile virtual d-pad is under review, and character creation restrictions will continue to be relaxed during maintenance periods. Boss zone teleports will be changed so players cannot teleport directly into the boss room in a single move.
These plans were announced during a 60-minute developer live stream broadcast on YouTube on October 13, titled "PD Lee's LIVE Broadcast – October Update News." The broadcast featured CM Park Ga-young and Lead Producer Sangmoon Lee from developer NPIXEL. Smilegate plans to improve convenience based on player feedback and introduce new gameplay content.
