According to reporting on the 30th, Nexon is currently recruiting personnel for this project. Nexon's stated goal is to gain a deep understanding of the sports genre and build new experiences and culture based on that foundation.
The specific sport has not been confirmed. The only PC sports game currently operated by Nexon is the soccer title 'FC Online'. It is not yet known whether Nexon will expand its lineup to include another sport.
The structure of external development combined with publishing by Nexon mirrors that of 'FC Online'. 'FC Online' is developed by Electronic Arts (EA), with Nexon handling its domestic service in Korea. It was released in 2018 as 'FIFA Online 4' and rebranded to its current name in 2023. If a new title featuring a different sport is released, Nexon's PC sports lineup will expand to two titles.
