EPID Games' collectible RPG, 'Trickcal: Revive', has reached 7th place in domestic Google Play revenue following its 3rd anniversary update.
Trickcal: Revive is a collectible RPG launched on September 27, 2023. It gained popularity through its signature cute character designs highlighted by "squishy cheeks," widely discussed anecdotes about the CEO within the community, and a fully voiced story that deftly weaves humor with seriousness. In particular, ever since its 1st anniversary special broadcast with a "Dangerous Invitation" concept, player interest has gathered each year around special broadcasts featuring creative formats and major announcements.
The 3rd anniversary broadcast held on the 18th featured a segment titled "Crime and Cheeks," inspired by the "Crime and Punishment" episode of Infinite Challenge. The show took the form of a bizarre trial where the business department—including the CEO and PD—and key developers split into opposing camps to argue their logic through various anecdotes. Several behind-the-scenes stories from the development team that had previously circulated as rumors were revealed, sparking widespread discussion across online communities and social media. This was followed by the "Cheeks and Crime" segment, inspired by the SBS variety show "Explosion! Mental Unity," in which the CEO, vice president, and PD had to pass through rotating walls featuring two cutout poses while answering questions. With the added penalty of getting sprayed with water streams whenever forbidden words were spoken, major announcements arrived in rapid succession amidst the chaotic fun—including the development of a PC client, animation production, and hosting an orchestra concert, all of which had been deemed difficult last year.
On the 24th, the game rolled out its 3rd anniversary update, earning enthusiastic player feedback by adding new Eldain characters "Ui (Memory)" and "Vivi (Divinity)" while bringing Season 3's storyline to a close. Furthermore, to mark the update, a wide variety of events were launched from the 24th to October 22, including a total of 600 free summons and special events for new and returning players, pushing the game up to 7th place in domestic Google Play revenue as of the 28th.
The global server, which launched on October 9, 2025, has also seen its rankings and recognition rise thanks to "Speaki" memes. Ahead of its 1st anniversary on the 24th, it received strong player response by introducing a pickup banner for the popular Eldain character "Joan" and updating the 1st anniversary theme theater "For Whom Do We Pray." Driven by this momentum, the game reached 5th place in Google Play revenue and 3rd place in App Store revenue on the Japanese server.
Meanwhile, to commemorate its 3rd anniversary, Trickcal: Revive will release one episode per week of the animated series "Trickcal Comic Theater" starting today (the 28th) on Laftel and Aniplus, and will hold an orchestra concert at Kyung Hee University Grand Peace Palace on October 3 and 4.
