Kakao Games Corp. has begun final service preparations for its new 2.5D MMORPG, World of Dokkaebi, aiming for an official release at 11:00 AM on October 8. The game is designed to lower the burden of character progression and combat for beginners by offering 12 skill styles instead of fixed classes, along with an AI chatbot named 'Myorong'.
World of Dokkaebi moves away from fixed class selection during character creation, allowing players to combine skills as they wish. After starting play, users can test various setups to find the combat style and growth direction that suit them best, freely swapping skill combinations depending on the content.
The 12 skill styles are divided into four categories: 'Direct Firepower', 'Range & Flow', 'Variables & Control', and 'Allies & Frontline'. Players can focus on offensive builds during farming, then switch combinations for boss raids or guild content based on their required role. Equipping three skills of the same style triggers 'Shinshik Release', granting effects such as ultimate ability enhancements, altered skill effects, and exclusive mechanisms.
During progression, the game does not demand extensive build knowledge from the start, allowing players to begin with basic skill combinations. Individual skills eliminate complex conditions or failure probabilities, with their visual effects and performance evolving through usage and progression. Once players become familiar with the game, combat outcomes can vary based on skill combo order and execution timing.
The in-house developed AI chatbot 'Myorong' compares a player's combat history and growth data against similar user groups to advise on missing elements and progression paths. Players can receive advice directly on screen regarding gear setups and check their hunting history as well as currency acquisition and expenditure.
'Myorong' also features tools to check and manage guild content participation and activity records. Select guild-related features will be added in post-launch updates.
