Kakao Games has joined forces with Quasar Zone to establish a detailed, data-driven PC optimization environment—including target frame rates—for its upcoming title Chrono Odyssey, currently in development on Unreal Engine 5.
Kakao Games (Co-CEOs Tae-hwan Kim and Si-woo Lee) announced on the 22nd that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with IT hardware media community Quasar Zone (CEO Hyun-seok Kim) aimed at optimizing Chrono Odyssey. Starting with this collaboration, the two companies will jointly conduct optimization testing tailored to various PC environments. When Kakao Games categorizes in-game graphics options in greater detail, Quasar Zone will apply its proprietary hardware testing program, Game Ready, to diagnose compatibility and performance across various PC specifications.
Based on empirical benchmark data obtained from testing, both sides plan to refine Chrono Odyssey's official minimum and recommended system requirements. Going beyond simply listing specs, they will establish clear performance benchmarks corresponding to specific settings—such as resolution, detailed graphics options, and target frame rates—based on real performance data across diverse PC hardware, helping players easily evaluate the optimal settings for their own systems. Furthermore, they plan to support broad hardware compatibility by establishing performance benchmarks for entry-level mainstream PCs as well as handheld gaming PCs (UMPCs), which have recently been gaining attention.
Developed by Chrono Studio, Chrono Odyssey depicts a realistic yet aesthetically rich dark fantasy open world powered by Unreal Engine 5. It highlights unique, impactful manual combat centered around the 'Chronotector'—a special system that allows players to manipulate time—and adds dynamic day-night cycles that transition naturally with the passage of time to deliver a distinct gameplay experience to players worldwide.
