The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA), the organizer of the Tokyo Game Show (TGS), has announced the schedule for TGS 2027.
TGS 2027 is scheduled to be held at Makuhari Messe for five days from September 16 to 20, 2027, just like this year. TGS 2026 was originally set to be held for five days for the first time in history from September 17 to 21, but after the in-person event on September 21 was canceled due to a typhoon, only select programs were broadcast online via YouTube and other platforms. As a result, the milestone of TGS's first actual five-day event has been pushed to next year.
This year, TGS 2026 drew 53,630 visitors on Day 1, 52,545 on Day 2, 78,678 on Day 3, and 72,789 on Day 4, totaling 257,642 attendees over the four days. This represents a slight decrease compared to the 263,101 visitors recorded during the same period last year.
Considering that this year's TGS was held on its largest scale ever with heavy participation from both Japanese and international gaming companies, Japan entering the typhoon's influence zone from September 20 appears to have impacted the attendance figures.
Meanwhile, select official programs will take place on September 21 via platforms such as YouTube. From 10:30 AM to 1:10 PM, an exhibition match titled "Red Bull Revenge" featuring eight players recreating historic matches in Street Fighter 6 will be held, followed by the TGS 2026 Ending Stage from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM to close out the event.
