At 1:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, Last Epoch released the official trailer for Season 5, 'Rage of the Frostborn.' The video features the new pinnacle boss 'Morditas,' alongside details on seasonal mechanics, new skills, new items, and more.
Season 5 introduces the new pinnacle boss, 'God of Blood – Morditas.' Detailed information about Morditas has not yet been fully revealed, but based on the footage shown in the trailer, he appears to pressure players with various attack patterns utilizing ice and blood.
The seasonal mechanic for Season 5 is 'Rage of Morditas.' Players can acquire the Rage of Morditas from crystals of frozen blood to gain new power. It has been described as a system where Morditas' power gradually grows stronger depending on player engagement, ultimately leading to a final showdown. After participating in the event, players can receive special rewards, similar to existing field events.
New skills were also introduced. 'Dreamslash' is added for the Bladedancer, 'Radiant Lance' for the Paladin, and 'Summon Tide Elemental' for the Shaman. According to the developer livestream following the trailer reveal, Dreamslash is a dash skill that attacks enemies along its path. Radiant Lance is a skill usable with a shield that infuses the shield with light to fire a beam at enemies in front. Summon Tide Elemental summons a minion that uses cold spells.
There were also changes to Item Factions. For the Merchant's Guild, search and trading convenience receive major improvements. Additionally, a price offer feature and an automatic price reduction option are added, and the rank requirements previously needed to purchase new item types have been removed. For the Circle of Fortune, the entire Prophecy system has been overhauled. Players can now directly select Prophecy rewards, making target farming much easier. Reward acquisition has become more consistent, and the scope of Prophecies has expanded, allowing players to focus more actively on what they want.
Other announcements included previews of select new Unique and Set items, waypoint improvements, and UI enhancements.
Meanwhile, Last Epoch Season 5 is scheduled to officially launch on Friday, October 2, at 1:00 AM KST.
