Traditional MMORPG 'Red Stone', the flagship title of L&K Logic Korea (CEO Nam Taek-won, hereinafter 'L&K'), is an exceptionally long-running title celebrating its 23rd anniversary of Korean service in 2026. Following last year, a gathering was organized again this year for the game's development and operational staff and adventurers to meet face-to-face and converse.
This year's 'Red Stone' player showcase was held for three hours on Saturday, August 22—one week prior to the August update, which holds significant meaning among the 2026 updates—at a party venue in Gangnam, Seoul. Selected through an advance application process, adventurers arrived early in small groups despite heavy downpours, waiting for the event to begin while enjoying finger food prepared by L&K.

Red Stone TALK
A report on the current status and major issues of 'Red Stone'
The 2026 'Red Stone' player showcase kicked off right on schedule. Hosted by Yoo Byung-hee, head of L&K's Live Operations Team, the first segment, 'Red Stone TALK', began. This segment took common inquiries collected during event registration and from players regularly playing the game, categorizing them into four areas: Character Balance, Content/Growth, PvP/Guilds, and Service Stability/Operations. It was conducted in a dialogue format between Operations Team Lead Yoo Byung-hee and 'Red Stone' Development Team Lead Oh Seung-jae to present a report to the assembled adventurers.

First was the topic of character balance. Over its 23 years of service, the most defining feature of 'Red Stone' is that it offers a total of 26 playable classes, including the most recently added Captain and its transformed counterpart, the Cannoneer (reaching 78 when including class promotions). While this is a rare advantage seldom found in other games, it inevitably creates a structure where character balance issues arise.
Specifically, they noted that many 'Red Stone' adventurers had requested balance adjustments regarding damage gaps and efficiency imbalances between physical and magic characters, performance improvements for long-established classes (such as Squire and Werewolf), and adjustments for certain classes that excel in PvP but fall short in PvE. To address these requests, they announced that, starting with a major balance overhaul for Magician and Alchemist in this year's year-end update, they will sequentially balance characters in earnest throughout 2027.
Next was a discussion on the content provided in 'Red Stone' and the resulting progression for adventurers. A common grievance among adventurers was that there are far too many progression bottlenecks as characters level up, and that after reaching a certain level of growth, there is little content left to challenge, leaving a lack of progression goals. Meanwhile, returning players who haven't played in a while and new players expressed difficulty keeping up due to how much the game has changed, as well as feeling burdened by raising new characters due to the many elements that must be repetitively done for each character.
For high-level adventurers, the amount of content added through bimonthly updates still feels insufficient. L&K highlighted past additions such as raising the level cap (beyond Lv. 2,000), new high-tier boss content 'Phase Conqueror', and new growth systems like 'Blood Record', 'Traces of the Ancient Dragon', and 'Phase Stone', adding that they will continue modernizing older systems that have aged over the game's long history.
Meanwhile, the quest-centric guide up to Lv. 1,250—introduced to ease leveling difficulty for beginner adventurers—helped accelerate growth, but conversely resulted in players having a limited understanding of 'Red Stone's complex content and systems. To resolve this, they reported to players that a full UI/UX upgrade has officially begun, starting with the 'Integrated Guide' included in late August's update, which consolidates scattered content and growth menus into an intuitive interface. Additionally, they announced that a massive new Main Story update will launch starting in 2027—the first major story expansion in roughly 10 years. While specific details were not disclosed, they explained that all content in 'Red Stone' is being designed to interconnect with this main story, introducing a multitude of new episode quests and NPCs, bringing the discussion on content and progression to a close.

The next segment, covering PvP and guild-related content, represents an area that had been neglected for some time during 'Red Stone's development and service. The report began with the development team lead apologizing for failing to fulfill the promise made at the 2025 showcase to revamp this area. They explained that priority had been given to PvE updates, and determining that minor improvements would not suffice for a PvP system stagnant from lack of attention, they decided on a complete revamp, announcing its inclusion in the 2027 update roadmap. In addition, explanations followed regarding work on improving 'Red Stone's overall UI/UX—aimed at boosting convenience for existing players while lowering barriers for new and returning players—as well as issues such as lifting the 40 million maximum damage cap.
The final segment of 'Red Stone TALK' covered the most sensitive topic: service stability and operations, with Live Operations Team Lead Yoo Byung-hee speaking on the matter. Addressing and apologizing for persistent frustrations among 'Red Stone' adventurers—such as frequent client crashes and unresolved latency or lag in crowded areas like boss and Phase fields—he reiterated the commitment to promptly deliver announcements and follow-up measures for connection issues or gameplay disruptions. Regarding the many requests for stricter enforcement against macro users, he acknowledged that while macro users are being cracked down on through continuous operational monitoring, it is difficult for players to perceive this, promising to quickly review and correct any areas needing improvement in monitoring and enforcement procedures. However, he added that careful consideration will be taken so that legitimate players are not harmed by macro enforcement.

During the collection of advance questions from adventurers, there were also inquiries about adding a new class following the Captain and Cannoneer. Development Team Lead Oh Seung-jae stated that while some adventurers may be disappointed, adding a new class is not included in the 2027 update roadmap. However, he shared that he has ideas for adding an appropriate class tied to the narrative as the aforementioned massive new Main Story update unfolds.
2027 Update Overview
What will the future of 'Red Stone' look like?
An outline of the update roadmap running from the second half of this year through 2027 followed. Beginning with the 'Integrated Content Guide' introduced in the recent August 26 update—which allows players to view 'Red Stone's main content at a glance, eliminating the inconvenience of traditional field-menu navigation while providing intuitive information—explanations were given regarding new bosses added to 'Red Stone's traditional Subjugation and Raid content, a full revamp of reward systems for those modes, and concepts for UI improvements starting with a revamped login screen.

Summarizing the update concepts for December this year and throughout next year, the main pillars include expanding the overall player base by attracting new players while preserving the tradition of 23-year-old 'Red Stone' and the value of existing users; a complete overhaul of UI/UX considering the game's survival over the next 10 to 20 years; character balance improvements reflecting extensive feedback collected from veteran adventurers; and a full revamp of PvP/GvG content alongside changes to long-stagnant guild systems. Additionally, plans were outlined for continuously updating outdated content, fully revamping reward systems, and meticulously comparing and balancing recent growth systems—such as 'Phase Stone', 'Ancient Dragon's Blessing', 'Destiny Prefix', and 'Non-standard Equipment'—against existing systems.
Live Adventurer Q&A
The highlight of the player showcase
The highlight of the showcase was naturally the live adventurer Q&A. While the earlier 'Red Stone TALK' was a presentation based on pre-collected opinions, the live Q&A offered a different dynamic where players could ask questions face-to-face and receive live answers from the development and operations staff. As expected, passionate interest from attending adventurers led to sensitive topics being raised. Here is a summary of select questions and answers from the venue.

Q. Regarding the 'lifting of the 40 million maximum damage cap' mentioned earlier, magic damage often fails to apply properly compared to physical damage no matter how much players upgrade their stats. Furthermore, limit break options have increased significantly with the introduction of Non-standard Equipment, yet some fail to function correctly. Shouldn't these issues be addressed?
A. We are aware of the issue you raised, and we intend to include resolutions for it when lifting the maximum damage cap. While it is difficult to give precise details right here today, the development team is well aware of your concern, and we will ensure a proper solution is found during actual implementation.
Q. You mentioned expanding the overall player base, including new and returning players. There are concerns that this might worsen the current server crashes and lag issues.
A. Regarding server instability, it is difficult to say it can be completely resolved in an instant, but gradual improvements are definitely being made. Since addressing player frustration is necessary to achieve our goal of expanding the user base with new and returning players, we will address this continuously over the long term through various measures.
Q. Out of the four current servers, non-'Prandel' servers (Prandel being the most populated) feel severely isolated. If PvP and GvG are revamped as planned, low-population servers will struggle even more to participate in that content. Are you considering server merges for servers other than Prandel to address this?
A. Server merges are not currently a priority. Our initiatives to grow the player base—game stabilization, enhancing beginner content, class balancing, and more—are designed for all servers, not just a specific one. The overall player base should grow evenly across every server, serving as the foundation for PvP and GvG revamps. Increasing the player population across all servers remains our consistent goal.

Q. With the PvP revamp planned for next year, do you also plan to expand HP pools in addition to removing damage caps? Right now, combat centers around instant burst fights. While some enjoy that, tank roles lose their appeal. Also, castle siege/defense currently revolves entirely around Soul Guard relays. I feel this part in particular needs an immediate patch.
A. Even if PvP revamp details are not currently high priority, we will quickly review feedback like this internally after the showcase and look for ways to take action if needed.
Q. Currently, weekly maintenance notices on Wednesdays often state 'Server Stabilization' and little else when there is no content update. Could you provide more detailed information on maintenance specifics?
A. Of course, posting 'Server Stabilization' does not mean we do nothing. Every week involves tasks to verify server-client stability, and Windows Server updates can cause optimization issues, among many other behind-the-scenes tasks. As the development team lead mentioned earlier, work on resolving lag is also included. Since we understand that adventurers are curious, we will look into ways to provide more detailed announcements.
Q. Top-tier boss content continues to be updated, such as the Phase Conquerors 'Hyperion' and 'Erschuka'. However, against Erschuka, classes like Tamer or Summoner face such severe penalties that attempting the boss is virtually impossible. Having balance issues where specific classes face extreme penalties feels unreasonable.
A. 'Phase Conqueror' content was designed with a focus on high difficulty for top-tier adventurers. While it was built to present a challenge for all characters, we did not deem it impossible to clear. Since we may not capture 100% of player feedback across all communities, we will quickly investigate whether there is room for rebalancing based on your input today and report back.
Q. With the recent Non-standard Equipment update, Level 1,750 weapons seem to drop overwhelmingly for specific class groups. Is there an issue with monster item drop balancing?
A. For instance, in areas like 'Phase Fields' for Phase Conquerors, similar monsters gathered together share the same drop table, which may make it feel like only certain items are dropping. Additionally, as players congregate in specific high-efficiency fields, they might experience similar impressions. We will quickly look into your point internally. If the situation is difficult to address solely through drop tables, we will make adjustments through various methods, such as revamping monsters or increasing the efficiency of other fields.
Q. Playing a Magician myself, I am particularly curious about the direction for Magician and Alchemist in the December roadmap patch. Could you give us a sneak peek?
A. For the Magician, I can explain the general concepts currently being developed. For the Flame Archmage specialization, which currently relies almost entirely on Meteor, the direction is to encourage using other skills alongside it while slightly buffing passives. We are also striving to enhance skill visual effects across Magicians where possible. For the Ice Archmage, the most popular Magician specialization, changing its balance carries the most pressure. We aim to retain its core playstyle while smoothing out inconveniences like having to constantly drop Ice Field to reach peak damage. Lastly, Martial Archmage is a unique form for a Magician that uses a dedicated resource gauge called 'Emotion Explosion', which currently has issues we are focusing on fixing.
Q. I raised this at the last showcase as well: the official website lacks accurate skill information for many classes, with missing or incorrect data. New, returning, or existing players trying new classes often look to the website in addition to official forums. If you intend to grow the player base, basic website information shouldn't be neglected.
A. To be honest, fixing and updating the game itself took higher priority than updating website information. I sincerely apologize to all players once again. Every point you raised is valid, and we fully agree. We will take care not to neglect official website information moving forward and work to correct it quickly.

There were many additional questions from adventurers and answers from the development and live operations teams that could not be detailed in this report. L&K mentioned that summarized responses and additional details will be published on the official website soon, so players can look forward to that update.
Finally, a rock-paper-scissors event was held to award giveaways to attending adventurers, followed by a group photo, concluding all scheduled events for the 2026 'Red Stone' 23rd Anniversary Player Showcase.

While it may not have been a massive event featuring grand spectacles or crowds of attendees like other famous titles, the sincere efforts of the 'Red Stone' staff to attentively host every single adventurer who made the journey were clearly evident throughout the three-hour gathering. Though attendees were small in number, each acted as a representative for the entire 'Red Stone' player base, gathering valuable feedback to communicate directly with the team.
This showcase revealed a genuine commitment, demonstrating that 'Red Stone' will continue striving to bridge the gap between developer and players through ongoing offline communication.
