6 Lucio plays that earn him an honorary Offense hero classification

Fast, lively, and a great healer. Lucio’s high-speed support gameplay is appealing to a ton of people. But his motto is definitely not ‘do no harm’ as these six featured players can attest to. Under the right circumstances, this agile support can turn into an effective killer.

So what do you think? Could Lucio be labled an honorary offense hero?

1. Lucio harasses a defenseless spider.

This is just cruel, Lucio. Widowmaker is up in her favorite spot, when Lucio bursts right in, thwacks her, vanishes, circles behind, and thwacks her again. Since she was probably scoped in that whole time, which would be like trying to kill a fly with a handgun. A moment of silence for this poor, tortured Widowmaker.

2. They keep coming, I’ll keep booping.

This should be a lesson in awareness more than anything else. The red team is so focused on whatever’s happening in the courtyard, that Lucio has free reign to boop people all day long. Always exercise caution around ledges when angry frog-men are around.

3. Stirring the hornet’s nest right into a trap.

Lucio’s base attack doesn’t do much damage, but it sure is annoying. Annoying enough to get an entire team on your trail, for sure. Watch out though, cause this musician has a little more punch than just his pea shooter. As punishment for their zeal, they get a taste of the big boop, right off the side of the map. What an incredible bait and switch.

4. Sometimes you just have to punch.

At this point, it's not about getting takedowns or helping your team, it's about sending a message. You have to let people know who the real offense character is. Sure, he could get the same results shooting them, but speed boosting into a double punch is just so much more satisfying.

5. Hippity hoppity, get off my property.

Nothing too flashy, no big play that wins the game, just clean, smooth, and skilled Lucio play. One of my personal favorite moment is when he curves to the right of Roadhog and dodges the hook. On any map with environmental kill potential, Lucio can be a feared opponent, and this clip embodies that.

6. Interrupting nap time is a death sentence.

Being an international celebrity is hard, especially while trying to protect the world from Talon and other nasty folks. Someone interrupting you from a well-deserved nap is enough to make anyone cranky, and you do not want a cranky person with a sonic amplifier angry at you. Ana and McCree learned this the hard way. How would you have reacted in Lucio’s position?
