NetEase Games' urban open-world RPG 'ANANTA' has confirmed its release date for January 15, 2027.

NetEase Games and developer Naked Rain revealed a new trailer for 'ANANTA' and announced its official release date during Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live (ONL) on August 25 (local time).

'ANANTA' is an open-world RPG set in a modern metropolis where players can enjoy freeform exploration and action. Players take on the role of an agent investigating anomalies and supernatural incidents, joining forces with companions to resolve events occurring across the city.

The latest trailer introduced narrative details alongside varied gameplay showcasing free exploration throughout the city. Viewers can see players utilizing diverse modes of transportation—such as cars, motorcycles, and skateboards—as well as visiting various city facilities to enjoy an array of content.

The video's artistic direction also drew attention. "Meng Zhong Ren" (Dream Person), a song well known from the film 'Chungking Express', was featured as the background music throughout the trailer, while Shanghai's iconic landmark, the Oriental Pearl Tower, appeared near the end of the video.

'ANANTA' highlights its vision of realizing the city not merely as a backdrop, but as a massive playground. Its key appeal lies in weaving daily urban life into gameplay, enabling players to engage in free movement and combat, interact with various NPCs, and enjoy diverse activities throughout the city.

'ANANTA' is scheduled to launch globally on January 15, 2027, for PS5, PC, iOS, and Android.
