HanbitSoft has extended its streak of profitability improvements for two consecutive quarters, boosting its first-half operating profit by more than sixfold compared to the previous year.
HanbitSoft (CEO Won Ji-hoon) announced that for the second quarter of 2026, it recorded ₩6.7 billion in revenue, ₩600 million in operating profit, and ₩1.1 billion in net profit on a consolidated basis. While Q2 revenue decreased year-on-year, operating profit and net profit rose by 1.8% and 8%, respectively. Although revenue saw an adjustment as its flagship title, 'Granado Espada M', entered a long-term stabilization phase, the company is credited with achieving notable stability in operating profit and improved profitability.
The improvement is even more pronounced in the cumulative first-half results. Consolidated revenue reached ₩15.3 billion, with operating profit at ₩2.8 billion and net profit at ₩3.9 billion—increases of 558.6% and 150.6%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. On a separate basis, H1 revenue rose 4% year-on-year to ₩12.4 billion, with an operating profit of ₩2.7 billion and a net profit of ₩2.8 billion, marking a successful turnaround to profitability.
HanbitSoft attributes these results to its focus on profitability-driven management efficiency and the reduction of development and marketing costs through the use of AI technology, believing it has secured long-term momentum for improved profitability. The steady performance improvement of its equity-method subsidiary, IMC Games, continues to contribute to net profit growth, and the company plans to foster long-term mutual growth through close collaboration with the partner.
In the second half of the year, the company plans to diversify its revenue base by securing new markets for 'Granado Espada M' in Southeast Asia and launching global services targeting North and South America. It is also in discussions with a Chinese publisher, with whom it signed a contract earlier this year, to expedite the game's release in that region.
A HanbitSoft official stated, "We maintained Q2 operating and net profits at or above the levels seen in the same period last year, and we are continuing to see high-quality performance improvements on a separate basis compared to the previous quarter. As the trend of profitability improvement has continued across both consolidated and separate results through the first and second quarters, we will not ease our efforts in stabilizing live service operations and management efficiency in the second half, aiming to sustain this profit growth trend." The official added that the company is also accelerating the development and release of its next new title, 'Aika Mobile'.
Meanwhile, HanbitSoft previously announced in June that it had signed an IP licensing agreement with developer Arc Nine Games for the flagship PC MMORPG 'Aika Online' and is currently developing a new mobile MMORPG based on the title, tentatively titled 'Aika Mobile'. 'Aika Online', which launched in 2009, is one of HanbitSoft's signature IPs and won three awards, including the Grand Prize, at the Korea Game Awards that year. Arc Nine Games was founded by the core development team that led the original game's golden age. The project is currently focused on adapting the original's identity—such as its large-scale Realm vs. Realm (RvR) content—for the mobile environment, and it is expected to serve as the company's next growth pillar alongside the international expansion of 'Granado Espada M'.
