'Sonic Frontiers' has surpassed 5 million units in cumulative sales. SEGA announced via its official channel on the 14th that the game has exceeded 5 million copies sold worldwide, marking the milestone three years and nine months after its November 2022 release.

To celebrate, SEGA has made the shoes featured in 'Sonic Adventure 2' available for free to all players. Previously, this item was exclusive to users who had subscribed to the newsletter before January 31, 2023.

Sales have grown steadily since launch. According to the gaming outlet Gamebolt, the game reached 3.2 million units in April 2023 and 4.57 million units in June 2025.

SEGA released the third free update, 'The Final Horizon!', in September 2023, and launched 'Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition' for the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 23. The Definitive Edition bundles all three previously released free updates, DLC, and Digital Deluxe bonuses into a single package.

'Sonic Frontiers' was released in November 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). In Korea, SEGA Publishing Korea is scheduled to release the physical 'Definitive Edition' package for the Switch 2 on September 17.
