Karif’s Gem Research event is back. The core mechanic remains the same: combine gems and Adena to create a pouch, which can then be opened for a chance to obtain valuable items. However, the variety of pouches has increased, and the range of items you can obtain has expanded accordingly.
The event runs for two weeks, from August 12 to August 26. You can participate by visiting the gem researcher Karif, located at the 11 o'clock position in the Giran Village square. Starting with this event, pouches are categorized into 'Red' and 'Blue' versions across three grades—Common, Rare, and Highest—each offering different potential items, so be sure to compare them carefully before purchasing.

The materials required to craft the pouches remain the same regardless of color. A Common grade pouch requires one of each of the four common gems (emerald, ruby, sapphire, diamond) and 5k Adena. A Rare pouch requires one of each of the four rare gems and 50k Adena, while the Highest grade pouch requires one of each of the four highest-grade gems and 500k Adena. Gems can also be obtained through the newly launched cube sales.
Opening each pouch grants one random item from a pool consisting of common rewards for that pouch type and color-specific rewards (Skillbooks). Since the drop rate for Skillbooks is very low, you will most often receive common rewards, so avoid overextending your resources.
For Common pouches, the notable common reward is Asitazio's Ash. Red pouches can yield Eye of Storm, Sun Burst, Berserkers, Earth Quake, and Greater Haste, while Blue pouches can yield Tornado, Eruption, Wind Walk, Call Lightning, and Mana Drain.
In Rare pouches, the notable items are Asitazio's Ash, Holy Unicorn Horn, Highest-grade Sapphire, and Highest-grade Diamond. However, because the seed cost for Rare pouches is high, Asitazio's Ash alone is rarely enough to break even. Red pouch-exclusive rewards include Summon Monster, Bless Weapon, Ice Lance, and Fog of Sleeping, while Blue pouches offer Area of Silence, Mass Teleport, Heal All, and Holy Walk.
Given the investment cost for Highest-grade pouches, the only notable common reward is a Blessed Enchant Armor scroll; even a Blessed Enchant Weapon scroll would result in a loss. Essentially, you should only invest if you are aiming for the Spellbooks. Red pouches can yield Shock Stun, Fire Storm, Solid Carriage, Lightning Storm, and Blizzard. Blue pouches can yield Bounce Attack, Cancellation, Triple Arrow, Reduction Armor, and Blood to Soul.
