Netmarble announced on the 17th that it has updated the monster-taming action RPG 'Monster Taming: STAR DIVE' with a new 5-star character, 'Nagi, the Shrine Maiden of White Phosphorus.'
'Nagi' is the chieftain of the snake beastkin tribe and views 'Mina,' a nine-tailed fox descended from a line of shrine maidens, as her rival. She is portrayed as an antagonist to Mina in her quest for revenge and recently ranked at the top of a popularity poll held at a pop-up store.
In combat, she appears as a Wind type Destroyer character. She uses a fan as her primary weapon and possesses crowd-control abilities that allow her to seize the flow of battle by launching enemies into the air. Her ultimate skill, 'Abyssal Descent,' creates a flower bud that draws in enemies before blooming, dealing damage and applying a Wind debuff.
To celebrate the update, Netmarble is holding a three-week 'Nagi' event recruitment. Alongside this, a special event titled 'All Who Do Not Revere Are Guilty' will be held, where players can uncover Nagi's hidden story. Users can collect resources by completing missions and playing in the event dungeon to earn rewards such as cards and growth materials.
Additional events are also underway. Through the 'Special Missions with Nagi' and the 'Nagi, the Shrine Maiden of White Phosphorus 7-Day Attendance Event,' players can obtain rewards necessary for character growth during the update period.
Ahead of the update, the development team hosted a live broadcast on the 16th to introduce upcoming content. Netmarble Monster PD Lee Dong-jo and Netmarble Division Director Kang Dong-ki personally introduced Nagi and unveiled information regarding the 1.2 version update. The broadcast also teased quality-of-life improvements, such as a 'dispatch system' and 'mobile key customization,' as well as information on new summer characters.
'Monster Taming: STAR DIVE' is the successor to the 2013 title 'Monster Taming.' Key features include character and story presentation powered by Unreal Engine 5, a 'Monster Collecting' system for capturing, collecting, and fusing monsters, and real-time tag-based combat with a 3-person party.
Detailed information, including this update, can be found on the 'Monster Taming: STAR DIVE' official website and forum.
