SSG CoreJJ says Blitzcrank was his most played champion in NA SoloQ.

On June 28th, Samsung Galaxy defeated Longzhu Gaming 2-1 in first match of 2017 LCK Summer Split Day 22 for their 9th win of the season, ending the first half of the split in first place. Yongin "CoreJJ" Jo was interviewed by the media after the match.

Congratulations on winning today's match after a very close series. How do you feel right now?

I wasn’t satisfied with how we won Game 2 because I’ve made too many mistakes. However, I’m satisfied with how I won Game 3.

You've ended the first half of the split in first place. Did you expect to do this well?

I’ve often imagined how we might go to the finals or even win the finals as we played through the regular season. However, I actually wasn’t sure that we’d be in the first place because we didn’t always win in scrims.

Game 2 was very hectic until the very end. What was the team mood like at the time?

It looked like Jaehyuk "Ruler" Park started to feel lost as he began to make mistakes. We all put him back on track together. Even when we’d lose the teamfights, we kept playing while thinking that we’d still win because we lost the fight in the enemy base.

Ruler seems to be playing very well recently. Can you feel the difference as the partner?

He’s been consistently good. I don’t feel that there was much difference. I think the games have gone well because he started to play more aggressively. It’s the same for me.

People say that SSG's botlane duo is very soft to Blitzcrank's grabs. How are you trying to improve that?

Blitzcrank is innately an unpredictable champion, so I’ve lost a few match because of that. I’m confident that I’ll crush them next time. I can play well with Blitzcrank too. Blitzcrank was actually my most played champion when I was playing in NA SoloQ. I want to show my Blitzcrank that I've honed in NA SoloQ on air one day.

Sungjin "CuVee" Lee was named as the sole MVP from SSG today. What are your thoughts on his performance?

CuVee excels in a game that went according to plans. His League point took a hit but is recovering now. Actually, I think he played his best when he was at Master Tier, and when his MVP Point was higher than his LP. I hope he does well in league matches even if his Ranked tier goes down.
