On April 30, Nexon (co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) updated its popular online FPS game 'Sudden Attack' with 'Ancient Palace,' a new map for the Speed Weapon Challenge mode.

Speed Weapon Challenge is a mode that allows players to enjoy a dynamic combat environment while moving at high speeds. Players can maintain their aim even while jumping in mid-air, and they can choose between assault or sniper weapon trees each time they respawn. In 'Ancient Palace,' a new individual combat map featuring traditional Korean aesthetics, players must cycle through 30 weapon stages by eliminating enemies, with victory awarded upon reaching 30 kills. To celebrate the update, players who complete specific missions in 'Ancient Palace' by May 14 will receive 'Sudden Notifications,' which can be used to exchange for or attempt to win items such as the 'GAL-1_v2(IS) Pungwol Permanent' and 'Ancient Palace Stone Pagoda Impact Grenade Permanent.'

In addition, the game is introducing a 'Sudden Guide' to help new and returning players learn the gameplay mechanics and latest systems of 'Sudden Attack.' Players will receive various items to support their gameplay as they complete the guide missions in sequence. This update applies 'Basic Training' first, with plans to expand the guide to include 'Tactical Training' and 'Advanced Training' in the future. Furthermore, to foster a fairer gaming environment, the developer is strengthening the Guillotine jury verification process and expanding mandatory security verification for ranked matches to include the Gold tier and above.

The 'Combo Pass 2026 Season 2' also launches, running until May 28, allowing players to level up their pass through gameplay to earn rewards like the 'AWP(MG) Flux Permanent.' Activating this alongside the Sudden Pass provides 'Combo Boost' benefits, granting additional rewards such as the 'VS-9(MG) Flux Permanent.'

Various in-game events offering item rewards are also underway. First, the 'Yut-den Attack' event runs until May 14, where players can earn throwing opportunities by completing missions to play Yut-nori and win weapons like the 'AK47(IK) Light White Tiger Translucent Permanent' and 'DRT-6(IS) White Tiger Translucent Permanent.' Additionally, logging into the game at PC bangs until May 28 grants benefits such as MyGun2 'Marble' usage and 'PC Bang Coins' for item exchanges. On May 2 and 3, completing missions like reaching a certain playtime at a PC bang will reward players with 'PC Bang MyGun2 Box Fragments,' '1,000 SP,' and '5,000 Nexon Cash Vouchers' (limited to 5,000 people per day on a first-come, first-served basis). Collecting two 'PC Bang MyGun2 Box Fragments' grants a 'PC Bang MyGun2 Box.

To celebrate Children's Day, from April 30 to May 5, players can enter specific phrases in the in-game chat to receive daily rewards such as the 'Art Grenade-Rabbit Permanent' and 'Art Grenade-Duck Permanent.' A 'Showtime' event will also run from April 30 to May 6, gifting specific items every hour on the hour from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Furthermore, a friend invitation event will run from April 30 to May 14, providing rewards to both existing players who invite friends and new or returning players who enter an invitation code. During the same period, the MyGun Mart will be open, featuring an item list that refreshes every 5 minutes and includes items like the '[M]SCAR_v2(I) Hunt Lv.1 Weapon Permanent' and '[M]MSR-200(IS) Hunt Lv.1 Weapon Permanent.' Players can also use entry tickets earned at the MyGun Mart to try for rewards like the '[M]Circle Black Lv.1 Permanent Supply Box.'

Meanwhile, a 'Sudden Live' broadcast will be held on the official 'Sudden Attack' SOOP channel on April 30 at 8:00 PM. The broadcast has been revamped from a mission-participation format to an official program where hosts experience new updates and content. Viewers can also receive gifts such as 'Containers,' 'Keycards,' and '5,000 Nexon Cash Entry Tickets' through Drops events.
