NCSOFT Moves Forward With Second Round of Legal Action Against AION 2 Illegal-Program Users

NCSOFT is proceeding with a second round of legal action against users who have been using illegal programs in its game AION 2.

Today (the 20th), NCSOFT submitted criminal complaints to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against seven AION 2 users accused of using illegal programs (macros). This marks the company’s second legal response, following its December 12, 2025 criminal complaints against five users for using illegal macro programs.

NCSOFT stated that it confirmed evidence indicating the accused (seven individuals) repeatedly used illegal programs not permitted in AION 2, interfering with normal game service and operations through activities such as account sales and the distribution of in-game currency. The company also determined that these actions harmed the game’s economic system and constitute conduct that disrupts not only ordinary users’ gameplay but also the game’s overall service and operational integrity.

In an effort to foster a healthy game ecosystem, NCSOFT has imposed sanctions on accounts in violation of its operating policies a total of 65 times since AION 2’s launch, taking action against 727,748 accounts in total. The company has also shared its response results and plans for additional measures regarding illegal macro programs through live broadcasts and official notices, while repeatedly informing players of its firm stance on pursuing strong legal action.

NCSOFT added that it plans to maintain a high-intensity response even after this second round of legal action. The company said it will continue monitoring and analyzing accounts suspected of using illegal programs, and that it intends to take immediate legal measures against any accounts and users confirmed to be involved.

An NCSOFT representative maintained the company’s position, stating: “Strict action against illegal programs such as macros is an essential measure to prevent harm to users and to maintain a healthy game ecosystem. NCSOFT will continue unwaveringly with strong legal action and the rigorous application of operating policies to eradicate illegal programs.”
