The legendary Age of Empires tournament Red Bull Wololo is set to return for its eighth edition, taking place in the heart of London from April 1–6, 2026. Dubbed Red Bull Wololo: Londinium, the event will bring top Age of Empires II and IV players together for six days of strategy, endurance, and high-stakes competition, culminating in a grand finale at the city’s historic Royal Albert Hall.
This marks the tournament’s most ambitious venue yet, with stages held across several iconic London landmarks. Organizers promise a celebration of the franchise’s rich legacy while spotlighting the next generation of esports talent.
Last year’s edition, Red Bull Wololo: El Reinado, took place in Spain, where champions Hamzah “Hera” El-Baher, Alexis “MarineLorD” Eusebio, Themistoklis “TheMista” Bonidis, and Nguyễn "Chim Sẻ Đi Nắng" Đức Bình each claimed titles across different Age of Empires games. With Londinium, fans can expect an equally intense lineup as veteran competitors and new contenders aim to carve their names into Wololo history.
A Historic Stage for the Next Chapter
The 2026 competition will unfold over three distinct phases: group stages from April 1–3, playoffs on April 4–5, and the grand finals on April 6. The Royal Albert Hall, a venue steeped in cultural prestige, will host the final showdown, where more than 3,000 fans are expected to gather for a live spectacle.
Since its debut, Red Bull Wololo has become a cornerstone of Age of Empires esports, offering a blend of historic atmosphere and modern production. Previous editions have been staged in castles and cathedrals across Europe, including Heidelberg Castle in Germany and Castillo de Almodóvar del Río in Spain.
Tickets for the playoffs and grand finals go on sale December 3, 2025. Fans unable to attend in person will be able to follow every match through the official Red Bull Gaming channels on Twitch and YouTube. With Red Bull Wololo: Londinium, the series continues its tradition of fusing competitive gaming with cultural landmarks—bringing the battle for empire to one of the most storied stages in the world.
