With only one week remaining in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 regular season, Korean side Nongshim RedForce stands as the lone team yet to clinch a playoff berth in Alpha Group. A victory over Gen.G on Aug. 8 at the SOOP Colosseum in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, would guarantee RedForce a spot in the postseason, regardless of other results. Even if RedForce falls short, a win by Rex Regum Qeon over Team Secret on Aug. 10 would hand RedForce the fourth seed.
Gen.G enters the matchup at 3–1 alongside DRX, both of which have already secured their playoff positions. A loss by Gen.G, coupled with a DRX victory, would cost Gen.G the top seed and its coveted bye into Round 2 of the playoffs—privileges they have held through Week 3 and will fiercely defend.
VCT Pacific Stage 2 Week 4 Preview
In Alpha Group’s Week 4 slate, Nongshim RedForce faces Gen.G on Aug. 8, followed by Rex Regum Qeon versus Team Secret on Aug. 10. RedForce need only one win to eliminate uncertainty; a loss forces them to rely on RRQ’s result for a direct path to Seoul’s SOOP Colosseum for the playoffs.

Omega Group has already determined its four playoff participants after three weeks. Talon Esports, Paper Rex and DetonatioN FocusMe each sit at 3–1, while T1 (2–2) has secured at least fourth place with wins over ZETA Division and BOOM Esports. However, T1 must defeat DFM on Aug. 10 to keep alive its hopes of finishing third and securing a more favorable Round 1 matchup.
The Aug. 8 Talon vs. Paper Rex match will almost certainly decide the Omega Group’s top seed, while T1’s showdown with DFM offers the potential for a higher placement. A third-place finish would pit T1 against the second seed from Alpha Group, a tougher first-round opponent but preferable to the lower bracket’s fourth seed.

All VCT Pacific Stage 2 matches run Aug. 8–11 and will be broadcast live on the VALORANT YouTube and SOOP channels, as well as on Naver Esports.
