In the second match of the quarterfinals at the 2023 LoL World Championship, Bilibili Gaming defeated Gen.G 3-2 against the odds and reached the semifinals. They were forced to a game 5 after a 2-0 lead, but in the end, Bilibili Gaming destroyed Gen.G’s final Nexus and advanced. After the match, Zeng “Yagao” Qi joined Inven to talk about the match.

Congrats. How was the game?

I’m satisfied with games 1, 2, and 5, but the other games were regretful.

How confident were you when Gen.G was decided as your quarterfinals matchup?

We didn’t feel any pressure. We were rather confident since we had beaten them at MSI. If anything, I think Gen.G would have felt more pressure since they were the No. 1 seed of LCK.

Games 1 and 2 were rather easy. How was it?

Personally, I think I played in lane very well.

You had to face Chovy’s Yone and Akali. Wasn’t it difficult?

Champions like Yone and Akali represent Chovy, but I didn’t think he would utilize them in such a critical situation. I felt pressure while I laned against him.

Chovy is often compared to Faker. As of now, in 2023, who do you think is better in terms of skill?

I think they’re both great mid laners. Chovy and Faker are just different in style — I can’t compare who’s better.

What was the main reason you were able to win today?

The biggest reason was that everyone showed good plays and that we had better draft strategies compared to Gen.G.

You’ll be facing Weibo Gaming in the semifinals. Are you confident?

Weibo Gaming seems to be in good form, so I think it’ll be a fun match.
