HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 Wireless Gaming Headset Review: Great sound for moving around

Source: HyperX

As the gaming headset market continues to develop, I feel more and more spoiled. Go back a decade, and I would've killed for any pair of headphones that have 7.1 sound. I would've been thrilled to have a pair of wireless headphones that lasted more than a couple of hours. And I would've shelled out a lot of money for either one.

The new HyperX headset answers all of my requests.

The HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 Wireless Gaming Headset is a great choice for gamers looking for a comfortable and affordable headset with solid audio quality, while still wanting to have a good wireless experience. According to Nate Almond, HyperX's audio business manager, the "Cloud Stinger 2 wireless gaming headset is an excellent option for gamers that desire a more immersive in-game experience with the freedom and flexibility to play without cables." One of the standout features of this headset is its 3D audio spatialization, which provides an immersive gaming experience by accurately recreating the sounds of the game world around you.

In addition to this, the Cloud Stinger 2 also offers a 7.1 sound environment, which I found to be great despite being fully wireless.  Throughout dozens of hours of playing, there was never a moment the quality was not crisp and clear.

One of the other major selling points of the Cloud Stinger 2 is its excellent battery life. With up to 20 hours of continuous use, you won't have to worry about running out of power in the middle of a long gaming session. And when it does eventually need to be recharged, the headset can be easily plugged in via a USB cable.

In terms of comfort, the Cloud Stinger 2 is a solid choice. It has a lightweight design and padded ear cups that make it easy to wear for long periods of time without feeling too heavy or cumbersome.

However, it's worth noting that the Cloud Stinger 2 does have some limitations. The headset has a relatively limited feature set, and the microphone quality is not the best, especially compared to other options on the market. Additionally, the microphone is not detachable from the headphones, which can be a drawback for some users.

Overall, though, the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 Wireless Gaming Headset is a great value for the price. It offers solid audio quality and a comfortable fit, and its excellent battery life is a major selling point. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of more expensive options, it's a solid choice for gamers on a budget looking for a good headset that won't break the bank.

Final verdict: 8/10
