After an exciting offseason of many different leaks and reports, the final team for the 2023 League of Legends Championship Series has been announced. According to an announcement on Dignitas' official Twitter account, the organization has it's full LCS roster for the 2023 Spring Split: top laner İrfan Berk "Armut" Tükek, jungler Lucas "Santorin" Larsen, mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen, AD carry Trevor "Spawn" Kerr-Taylor, and support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun. Dignitas was the last team to officially introduce its roster.
The announcement comes after a disappointing 2022 performance for the team — failing to make the playoffs in the spring, and notching a 3-15 record for the worst in the league during the summer. Many fans and analysts speculated that Dignitas would consider selling their franchise spot heading into the 2023. The team's general manager James Baker acknowledged these losses in the announcement video and highlighted the exciting future for the team going into 2023.
Going into the new year, Dignitas boasts an experienced and accomplished roster comprised of players known for their abilities in team fights. The roster news marks the reunion of Santorin and Jensen — both LCS champions — as well as the LCS debut of Armut, a former LEC champion.
The roster news was one that was met with pleasant surprise by both general fans and industry veterans. In a recent interview with Inven Global, Team Heretics Head Coach Peter Dun expressed his excitement for the roster. "Actually, as weird as this may sound, I'm really excited for Dignitas' roster. Because the idea that Jensen, Santorin, and IgNar would all be playing for Dignitas two years ago would be completely unthinkable," Dun stated. "NA is all about who has the best team fighting. If your team has Santorin, Jensen, and Armut on it, you can teamfight. So that's gonna be a really, really fun one to watch."
