T1 Faker: "Since our next opponent is Gen.G, we’ll correct our problems before going into the match."

On Feb. 9, in the 2022 LCK Spring Split, T1 defeated Hanwha Life Esports and continued their winning streak. With their 2-1 win, T1 stay undefeated this season, picking up their seventh consecutive victory. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok stood strong as always, leading T1 to the 7-0 and he joined the media after the match for an interview.

It’s your seventh consecutive win. How do you feel?

It was our first match after the break, so I wanted to have a clean win. I’m sad that we weren’t able to have a 2-0 win. It’s a relief though that we were able to continue our winning streak.

Many people thought T1 will blow out Hanwha Life Esports, but you lost game 1, and the series was neck and neck. Why do you think the game went that way?

We made mistakes in early-mid game skirmishes and there were a lot of close fights in the late game as well. Overall, I think there were parts that we lacked in today’s game.

You played Ryze in game 1 today, despite his low win rate. What do you think of Ryze?

Ryze did lose a lot, but we need to approach the champion strategically, exactly analyzing why it lost. In today’s game, not being able to benefit in the early game top dive was the reason. I think making mistakes when playing Ryze is the biggest problem.

As soon as Zeri was available in the LCK, it was picked up by Hanwha Life Esports. How was it playing against her?

Zeri has great mid to late game potential, so we kept that in mind. In game 1, we were behind, so it was convenient for Zeri to deal damage actively.

Was the best-case scenario to end the game before Zeri had a chance?

We had the initiative in the early-mid game, so we should have had a better start. It’s unfortunate that we weren’t able to.

Karis said that his role model is you. How was it facing him?

The matchup in mid lane wasn’t that meaningful in today’s match, so there’s not much to say. There should be a better performance in mid lane in the next match.

Your next match is against Gen.G. They are one of the hottest LCK matches in the first round. If you win, there’s a chance that T1 will go undefeated in the first round. How do you think it’ll go?

There were several problems we found today. Since our next opponent Gen.G, we’ll correct our problems before going into the match. Personally, I want to show my best performance against Gen.G. I’d like to show a satisfying performance to the fans.

Any last comments?

We got seven straight wins today. I’ll continue to show a good performance so that we can get as many wins as possible.
