Blank: Meteos inspired me to play Zac

SKT T1 jungler Sungu "Blank" Kang spoke about his team reaching the semifinals.

On the second day of the 2016 League of Legends World Championship quarterfinals, SKT T1 took down RNG 3-1 to secure their spot in the Ro4. Coming off the bench starting from Game 2, Blank delivered a series of outstanding performances to turn the match around and lead SKT to victory.

Congratulations! SKT won three games in a row after you came on. How do you feel?

As I mentioned earlier in another interview, I had a hunch during the game - I knew that we would get this one. Overall, the game went well and it felt great. I'm very excited and happy to head to and get to visit New York City!

Your aggressive play today was outstanding. Was there a secret behind it?

In the current game, the jungler is heavily dependent on his laners' success; it's come a long way from the previous jungle carry meta. Our laners did a great job today, and that is what enabled me to go for the more aggressive plays.

Zac has not been a favorable pick lately, but you played aggressively with Zac against Olaf in the early game and came out ahead. How did you come up with that?

C9 Meteos inspired me to play Zac with his play on the Korean ladder. I knew he was famous for his Zac, and watched many of his solo queue games for tips. After seeing him pull it out yesterday, I knew there definitely was a place in the meta for Zac. I also have several off-meta champions I haven't played yet, so prepare to be surprised!

SKT seemed disconcerted for a while in Game 4 after losing the toplane 2v2.

We should've won that fight, but mlxg's did very well with Lee Sin there - that insane billiards kick was something else. Fortunately, that fight did not affect the general flow of the game, and we recovered.

ROX? EDG? Which team do you expect, and which team would you prefer to face?

Honestly, it's very hard to make a prediction between ROX and EDG. I'd prefer to have a KR vs KR in the semifinals, though - if the two teams are of equal strength, I'd rather fight against the Korean team. I want to beat ROX once again. Still, I just can't predict who's going to win.

Besides the championship trophy, is there anything else you hope to take home from Worlds?

I don't want to leave the stage with any regret, and I want this Worlds to be the turning point in my career where people start recognizing me as a good jungler. I'm trying very hard.

Any last words for your fans?

I really appreciate all your support and attention. I'll do my absolute best to make the finals.

Any surprise celebrations planned for making the finals, such as Faker's Tumble last year?

I'll think about it when I'm actually in the finals [laughs]. I might do something completely crazy and ridiculous - I think I'd enjoy that. Winning in the semifinals comes first, though.
