With both T1 and kt Rolster picked up a 2-0 victory against their respective opponents, day 12 of the 2021 LCK Spring split has come to its conclusion. KT took a 2-0 victory over DRX to jump to 4th place in the standings, while T1 picked up a 2-0 victory over Liiv SANDBOX to take the much needed victory. T1’s victory held more meaning, as it was the first match that bot laner Park “Teddy” Jin-seong and jungler Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan started in the 2021 season.

Despite DRX’s off-meta pick in the mid lane with Nocturne, KT was still able to come out on top in game 1. DRX attempted to play around their jungle priority, but they weren’t able to snowball the game as much as they wanted. On the flip side, however, KT had a superior teamfighting composition, baited out teamfights, and took one objective after another to take a gold and dragon lead. It was a set that showed KT’s composure, as they remained unswayed by DRX’s tactics, eventually taking down DRX’s Nexus.

KT capitalized on their momentum to take a clean 2-0 sweep, and at the center of it all was KT’s top laner, Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon. He was able to take a demanding lead from the 2v2 skirmish victory in the top lane, and used his lead to scale and perform well in teamfights. While DRX had their moments of coming back into the game through teamfights, it was not enough to turn the tides of the game. Doran was named Player of the Game (PoG) for his performance in game 2, marking his first PoG of the season.

Against LSB, T1 started Cuzz and Teddy for the first time in the 2021 season. Despite T1’s commanding lead in game 1, their chain of mistakes stretched out the game. However, Teddy was able to lead his team to victory, as he didn’t lose focus until the very end; he was named PoG for game 1 for his performance.

In game 2 of the series, not only was Cuzz able to take early-game priority in the jungle, T1’s bot lane was able to utterly dominate the bot lane for a smooth victory. Despite the top laner for LSB, Park “Summit” Woo-tae trying his best in delaying the game to the 30 minute mark, T1 was able to close out the game after a teamfight victory over the elder dragon buff.
