On March 8th (PST), Team Liquid announced that they have completed the transfer of Phoenix1's support, Adrian "Adrian" Ma. Adrian will be playing for Team Liquid through November 2017 as soon as Riot approves the transfer.

As for the current starting support, Matt "Matt" Elento, he will retain his position as the starting support for the remainder of the week. Team Liquid explained that "Bringing in Adrian provides our coaching staff options for the remainder of the split and enables our experienced support duo to provide valuable feedback to each other."

Meanwhile, Phoenix1 have signed up two players to fill in the spot left vacant by Adrian. According to LoL Esports page, it looks like William “Stunt” Chen and Jordan “Shady” Robison have joined the team, and Stunt will be playing as the starting support in the upcoming match against FlyQuest.

Gwangjin "Piglet" Choi changing his role to a midlaner, Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng joining Team Liquid, and now Adrian joining the team all in the middle of the split look like a huge gambit for Team Liquid to avoid relegation. Only time will tell whether this bold move will pay off.
