[Official] Afreeca Freecs release multiple players, Spirit transitions to academy coach

Afreeca Freecs announced that they will be parting ways with multiple players while re-signing jungler Lee “Dread” Jin-hyeok. The players that will be leaving the team are Kim “ALL IN” Tae-yang, Nam “Ben” Dong-hyeon, Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun, Seo “SS” Jin-sol, Lee “Hoon” Jang-hoon, and Son “Jelly” Ho-gyeong. 

 

At the same time, they announced that Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon will be transitioning to a coaching role on the academy team. They also signed Choi “Alvingo” Byeong-cheol as the head coach for the academy team.

 

Spirit debuted in 2013 as a member of MVP Blue, which later was acquired by Samsung Blue. Afterward, he left the LCK to join Team WE for a year and Fnatic in the next year. When Spirit returned to the LCK in 2017, he joined Afreeca Freecs and played there ever since.

 

As of this announcement, the only players left on Afreeca Freecs’ roster are Kim “Kiin” Gi-in, Song “Fly” Yong-jun, and Dread.
