[Official] The head coach for T1, Kim Jeong-soo, parts ways with T1

T1 announced on the 13th that the head coach for their League of Legends roster, Kim Jeong-soo has parted ways with the organization.

Kim was originally signed with T1 until 2022. While T1’s League of Legends roster seemed to be off to a great start due to them winning the 2020 LCK Spring split under Kim’s leadership, the team lost the wildcard match of the 2020 LCK Summer playoffs to Afreeca Freecs, while also failing to make it to the 2020 LoL World Championships, due to their loss against Gen.G in the LCK regional qualifiers.

When the news first broke out, he originally claimed that “Nothing has been discussed with the team yet”. However, in his post on social media, he claimed that he will be taking responsibility for T1’s performance this year and will be stepping down. He further commented, “I’m very sorry that I couldn't’ live up to the fans’ expectations, and would like to thank all the players and the fans for their support.

While the departure of Coach Kim will leave many fans disappointed, it also leaves the fans with the question, ‘Who will be the one leading T1 in 2021?’ Will it be kkOma, who recently announced his departure from Vici Gaming? Or will it potentially be LS, who was recently reached out to by the management of T1? Keep an eye out with Inven Global as we bring you more coverage on T1's future for 2021.
