Final Fantasy 14 Frankfurt Fan Festival reveals Samurai and more

The 2017 Final Fantasy Frankfurt Fan Festival was held on Feb 19th. Like the previous Fan Festival, which was held in Tokyo, the festival began with a speech from director Naoki Yoshida. The festival was full of surprises from beginning to end. The trailer for the 4.0 update revealed the new job, Samurai; after the trailer, Yoshida once again surprised the audience by appearing in a Samurai costume.

The Samurai is a new DPS job which will be added in Stormblood along with the Red Mage. The Samurai will deal massive melee damage using a Katana. Players who completed the main scenario quests for Heavensward will be able to play the Red Mage and Samurai starting from level 50.

Along with the new job, a new area and new in-game content was also revealed. A new Beast God Susano, a new Omega dungeon (which will be very challenging), and the 24-player raid, Return to Ivalice, will be the core features of Stormblood.

Lastly, the 4th and newest residential area, Shirogane, will be added, and the number of available furniture per house will be doubled. Also a new system will allow players to move their houses, giving them a lot more freedom with housing.
