Darwin’s Paradox! Release Date Set for April 2, Demo Out Now on Xbox, Switch 2 and PC

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that Darwin’s Paradox! will launch April 2 across multiple platforms, with pre-orders opening immediately. The story-driven adventure platformer is headed to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam.

Developed in collaboration with French indie team ZDT Studio, the game places players in control of Darwin, an octopus navigating a dangerous journey back to the ocean. Darwin’s abilities center on camouflage, adhesive tentacle-based traversal, and an ink shooter used to evade predators and environmental hazards.

According to Konami, the game blends cinematic presentation with gameplay built around movement, stealth and environmental interaction. Players will traverse platforming stages while using Darwin’s natural skills to avoid threats and solve traversal challenges.

Pre-orders include two cosmetic bonuses: the “Psyched” Skin and the “Dotted” Skin, both usable in the full game.

The release date was revealed during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s State of Play presentation. A new trailer shown at the event highlighted Darwin’s traversal mechanics and the game’s stylized, animated-film-inspired visuals.

In addition to the launch announcement, Konami confirmed that a playable demo is available beginning today for Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The PlayStation 5 demo is scheduled to go live Feb. 14.

The demo offers a preview of the game’s core mechanics and includes what Konami describes as a subtle nod to its legacy of stealth gameplay. In select sequences, Darwin can be seen wearing a cosmetic “Snake” Skin. Konami says the skin functions as an Easter egg and will be discoverable in the full release. While primarily positioned as an adventure platformer, the demo emphasizes tactical elements, including enemy avoidance and environmental navigation.

Darwin’s Paradox! marks the latest collaboration between Konami Digital Entertainment and an independent studio, continuing a trend of partnerships aimed at expanding the publisher’s portfolio beyond its established franchises.
