Hades 2 released in early access

Supergiant Games released Hades 2 in early access on May 6. Hades 2 is the sequel to the quarter-view roguelike action game Hades, which won multiple Game of the Year awards in 2020 and 2021. Hades received acclaim for its meticulous roguelike action, unique design, art, and captivating story that reinterpreted Greek mythology.

Subsequently, Hades 2, which continues the story, was first unveiled at The Game Awards 2022. It was announced that Zagreus, the protagonist of the previous game, and his sibling Melinoye would mainly engage in combat using magic.

Originally, Hades 2 was announced for early access release in 2023, but it was postponed to 2024 in September 2023. After a technical test on April 17, it was released in early access on May 6, continuing its journey towards full release.

Supergiant Games stated that Hades 2 was designed with early access in mind from the beginning, similar to the previous installment. They also assured that they would continue to add new features, characters, regions, etc., based on player feedback through a series of major updates.

Meanwhile, Hades 2 reached nearly 70,000 concurrent users on Steam and received over 3,000 Steam reviews within 8 hours of its surprise release announcement. The Steam reviews are currently overwhelmingly positive, garnering praise.
