In Azur Promilia, the companions joining the Starfarer's journey are not limited to characters from various races like Beastfolk and Elves. Mysterious creatures known as 'Kibo' can also be encountered all across the world of Promilia—dashing through fields, roaming near watersides, and occasionally soaring through the skies. Ranging from familiar animal-like forms to unique appearances reminiscent of plants or fairies, Kibos possess distinct appearances and habits, serving as another group of inhabitants living in this world.
The Starfarer can form a 'Starlink' with Kibos to recruit them as companions for the adventure. Players can combine a Kibo's abilities with character attributes and roles for use in combat, as well as receive assistance in housing. Because Kibos accompany players in growing crops, crafting equipment and facilities, and developing their homesteads, discovering and nurturing different Kibos becomes another key highlight of the adventure.

Among the land-based Kibos, some resemble familiar animals such as chickens, foxes, and wolves. The prime example is the 'Cabbage Chicken', which has served as a mascot since Azur Promilia was first revealed. Characterized by a crest that resembles green leaves, the Cabbage Chicken is a Wood-element Kibo that spins its crest rapidly like a propeller to soar into the sky in moments of danger. It often burrows underground to rest, making it easy to mistake its exposed crest for a cabbage and accidentally disturb it.
Meanwhile, as Kibos grow, not only their appearance but also their talents and skills change, meaning their initial small form is just the beginning. For example, the Wood-element Kibo 'Sprout Fox' is highly popular among intelligent races; as it matures, it passes through stages such as the Forest Tail Fox and Crown Fox, gaining an elegant physique. 'Flame Moo', which carries a flame on its head, is helpful to others and even uses its flame to cook hot pots, though it possesses a simple and impulsive personality. However, this is only its juvenile stage; as it progresses through its growth stage as Flame Woo and its mature stage as Flame Rhinoceros, its passion is joined by composure, evolving into a demeanor where it quietly offers help and departs without expecting anything in return—making it warmly welcomed by intelligent races.
The massive 'Thunderark' is usually gentle, but once angered, it possesses strength that is difficult to stop. As a Lightning-element Kibo, its daily life includes moments like creating orb-shaped electrical charges while scratching between its horns against trees.

Heading toward the water, players can encounter Kibos that operate on the surface or stay close to aquatic environments. The Water-element 'Little Beaver' is a Kibo with a talent for gathering materials and crafting items, serving as a 'master of crafting' who actively studies architecture and fire prevention. With steady care, it can grow into a Beaver Master, making it delightful to watch a companion that diligently gathered materials with its small body mature into a grander form.
In contrast, the 'Mischief Shark' lives up to its name with its fondness for pranks. They approach boats in packs to ram into them just for fun, and official guides even advise throwing them food before the boat breaks. They also dislike being touched carelessly by strangers, so rather than blindly approaching them just because they look cute, it is better to understand their temperament first.
Waterside Kibos do not strictly stay in the water either. Found in Sprout Valley, the Water-element Kibo 'Star Manta' is also adept at flying through the air. However, moving too far from water causes its body to dry out, placing it in danger, so it cannot wander far from aquatic areas. Its tail ornament is also linked to its attacks and should not be touched carelessly—making it a Kibo with as many notable habits to keep in mind as its unique appearance.

In the skies, there are Kibos that travel riding the wind. 'Fluffding', covered entirely in soft down, drifts in groups alongside the smaller 'Popoding' while taking in the scenery. Meanwhile, for the 'Storm Hawk', which shines even brighter in fierce winds, flight is introduced as its purpose and reason for existence. Even while sharing the same sky, the laid-back drifting companions and the one braving the wind present a striking contrast.
There are also cases where flight capabilities have influenced the daily lives of intelligent races. Found in the shopping district of Fleece Citadel, 'Airball' is a Kibo that kindly guides people looking for directions and serves as the mascot for the 'Outbound Travel Agency'. The agency's airship was also designed inspired by Airball.

Among these diverse Kibos, there are also powerful entities that Starfarers must face as boss monsters. A prime example is 'Phantomfly', which appears in the misty jungle of Sprout Valley. A Spirit-type Kibo of the Illusory Beast classification possessing Wind and Light elements, it makes a striking impression as it spreads its large wings and gracefully flits through the canopy.
However, players must not let their guard down due to its beautiful appearance. Phantomfly senses weak willpower in other living beings, using voices and illusions to entice or control opponents while absorbing special energy. Although it enjoys approaching other creatures on its own, it remains wary of anyone who trespasses into its territory first. While it has a charming side, such as enjoying grooming itself with flowers, the elegant dance it performs in the forest is also a threat that the Starfarer's party must remain vigilant against.
Another Spirit-type Kibo of the Illusory Beast classification living in the misty jungle is 'Nightfall', another creature to beware of. Evolved from Shadowbat through Shadowwing and Nightwing, Nightfall torments its prey with the ability to conjure nightmares. However, it is extremely vulnerable to sunlight and cannot see anything in bright places, leading it to operate primarily at night.
