Escape the Baby Alarm will launch simultaneously on PC, iOS, and Android on November 24. The full release features 17 chapters, around 38 puzzles, and eight original soundtrack tracks.
Danish developer and illustrator Julie Normann Bjørnskov announced the release schedule on the 8th. The game is a single-player surreal puzzle adventure incorporating escape room and point-and-click elements. The PC version will be released on Steam, with publishing handled by Yotsuba Interactive. According to the Steam store page cited in the press release, the game supports 12 languages including Korean, providing Korean interface and subtitles.
Inside a baby monitor, players find a way to escape while navigating through mashed peas, pacifiers, and sleepless nights. Quirky everyday moments, such as searching for shoes in the refrigerator, appear as puzzles, and unsolicited advice received by new parents also serves as narrative material. Puzzles derived from emotions and daily life are solved within surreal spaces, playable without scores or time pressure. A demo is available to play on Steam.
Underlying the development are the changes Bjørnskov experienced upon becoming a parent. She expressed the emotions, confusion, and joy of small achievements in parenting through rooms, visual jokes, and puzzles. Her workflow involved recalling emotions or memories first and then translating them into forms players can directly interact with and solve. By channeling challenging moments through humor, she shared her hope that even people without parenting experience can resonate with the puzzles and story.
Bjørnskov also created the hand-drawn artwork herself. The illustrations feature small details, reactions, and humor, influenced visually by Cartoon Network, director Hayao Miyazaki's films, as well as 1990s nostalgia and technology.
Bjørnskov said, "'Escape the Baby Alarm' is probably the most personal project I've ever made. Becoming a parent changed me completely. In many ways, I felt reborn both in my personal life and in my career. I felt a passionate need to tell that story, and I felt a game was the fullest way to share it. Thanks to interactive elements and puzzles, I was able to give players the opportunity not just to watch the story, but to directly become part of it. In the end, 'Escape the Baby Alarm' is my tribute to all parents in the world."
Yotsuba Interactive is an affiliate of the indie game marketing agency Neon Noroshi, launched in June 2025. Aiming to deliver indie games that reflect regional flavor or the developer's life, it announced the publishing of Escape the Baby Alarm in August 2026.
