A commemorative postage stamp featuring esports legend 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok will be officially issued on October 23.
The official release date for the commemorative stamp honoring T1's 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok, first announced in April, has recently been unveiled. According to Korea Post, the 'Faker' commemorative stamp will go on sale starting October 23. It is highly unusual for an esports player to be selected as the subject of a commemorative stamp, and the decision to feature 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok appears to be largely driven by recognition of his achievements, including holding the record for the most LoL World Championship titles and becoming the first esports athlete to receive the Cheongnyong Medal (Order of Sports Merit).
The champion skins to be featured on the stamp were selected through a fan preference survey conducted in June, where fans chose three out of nine candidates (2013 Zed, 2015 Ryze, 2016 Syndra, 2023 Orianna, 2024 Immortalized Legend Ahri, Risen Legend Ahri, 2024 LeBlanc, Yone, and Sylas). Park In-hwan, President of Korea Post, previously stated, "We will expand the issuance of commemorative stamps created together with the public and strive to communicate across generations and age groups through stamps." While the release schedule is now public, the specific design of the stamp will be revealed at a later date.
Meanwhile, 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok is currently representing South Korea in League of Legends at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and is set to play his first match in Group B on the morning of the 30th.
