PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) will make its US ComplexCon debut next month with a capsule clothing collection made with Floor 13, the new creative studio from musician mgk. As first announced by Complex, the collection will only be sold at the Los Angeles Convention Center during ComplexCon on October 3rd and 4th. ComplexCon is a pop culture festival covering fashion, music, gaming and lifestyle. The range includes T-shirts, sweatshirts and hats, among other items. Each piece carries imagery from the battle royale shooter, in which up to 100 players fight to be the last one standing.
"This collaboration with Floor 13 marks a new chapter for PUBG, stepping outside the game and into fashion and culture," said Hyojung Lee, Head of PUBG IP Experience at KRAFTON, the South Korean developer and publisher behind the game. Lee added: "ComplexCon is the perfect stage to bring this exclusive collection to a global audience and marks the first of many upcoming new experiences we have planned to bring the game to life beyond the screen."
Floor 13 based the collection on the number 13 and the idea of luck. Jake Zottoli, Creative Director at Floor 13, said the studio wanted to play on the number's reputation. "Thirteen has always carried this superstition of being unlucky, and 'Better Luck Next Time' felt like an idea that could resonate naturally with PUBG," Zottoli said. "We liked flipping that superstition and treating luck as something you create rather than something you're given."
PUBG's second ComplexCon appearance this year
Los Angeles won't be PUBG's first ComplexCon. The game appeared at ComplexCon Hong Kong in March, where it teamed up with South Korean streetwear label Thug Club.
According to a release from KRAFTON at the time, the Hong Kong appearance was part of PUBG's ninth anniversary celebrations. The event took place at AsiaWorld-Expo on March 21st and 22nd. The Thug Club collaboration offered clothing and themed items that gave the PUBG universe a streetwear twist.

KRAFTON also built a colosseum-inspired booth at the show. Visitors could take part in interactive activities and earn rewards through an on-site programme. PUBG featured on the festival's main stage as well, with performances from producer and DJ R.Tee, beatboxer WING and Hiss. All three had worked with PUBG before.
According to the release, the Hong Kong activation was part of KRAFTON's push to take PUBG's intellectual property (IP) into wider cultural spaces, and the company said it would keep exploring new collaborations.
