Game data analytics firm Alinea Analytics has estimated that 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past' (hereinafter 'Songs of the Past') ranked first in Steam new wishlist growth among titles featured at Gamescom 2026.

According to data released on September 1 by Rhys Elliott, head of market analysis at Alinea Analytics, 'Songs of the Past' gained approximately 451,000 Steam wishlists between August 23 and August 30. The figure compares the period from two days prior to Gamescom Opening Night Live through the final day of the event.

Second place went to 'Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons' with approximately 379,000 wishlists, while 'Ananta' took third place with around 302,000. The gap between 'Songs of the Past' and second place was roughly 72,000. 'LEGO Skylines' ranked fourth with approximately 273,000.

Steam does not publicly disclose absolute wishlist numbers for individual titles. The ranking figures, including the 451,000 estimate, are not official statistics provided by Valve, but rather Alinea Analytics' own estimates. Alinea Analytics also explained that wishlists serve merely as an indicator of interest and are not a benchmark for predicting launch sales.

Separately, CD PROJEKT RED announced on the official 'The Witcher' account on September 2 that wishlists for 'Songs of the Past' had reached 900,000. The company's IR channel stated that 900,000 players added the expansion to their wishlists within a week. As a figure disclosed by the developer, the public posts do not specify the scope of platform coverage. Because its scope differs from Alinea Analytics' estimates—which calculated growth over a specific period solely for Steam—a direct comparison between the two numbers is difficult.

'Songs of the Past' is the third expansion for 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'. Co-developed by CD PROJEKT RED and Fool's Theory, it is scheduled to release in 2027 on PC, PS5, XSX|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
