Elena Renault is a Water-attribute support Hunter. Her core supporting capabilities include excellent critical hit adjustments, shields, continuous healing, and overload assistance. Additionally, because she can apply the 'Chill' effect, she pairs exceptionally well with Stacker Mary Reine, who benefits from synergies with the Chilled state.
For Water-attribute teams, the position of Frieren—who applies a debuff that increases incoming critical hit rate and damage—is so well-established that opinions on the new supporter, Renault, are somewhat mixed. The prevailing view is that if you have already well-invested in Frieren, there is no urgent need to pull for Renault for standard single-party content. Conversely, in team-based content like Guild Boss battles, her critical hit synergy is quite valuable, making her a recommended pick for those modes.

Basic Characteristics of Elena Renault
Unlike many recently released characters, Elena Renault is a typical supporter with little expectation for her own personal damage output. Without any complex mechanics, she provides allies with Water-attribute damage, overload damage, and critical hit buffs to enhance survivability, while applying a debuff to enemies that increases the Water-attribute damage they take.
Because her rotation is simple, you don't need to pay as much attention to enemy movements, and her ease of use is high as there are no particularly difficult aspects to her kit. Her short on-field time is an added bonus.
Furthermore, her buff duration is exceptionally long at 40 seconds. Taken together, she shows strong synergy with Water-attribute Strikers, Stackers, and Breakers who spend significant time on the field.

Basic Rotation: Q - Core - E, then swap out
Elena Renault's operation is so simple that she barely has a complex rotation. You can start by using Q to apply Chill to the target and activate her Core Attack. After the Core Attack, using E grants the 'Incoming Silver' buff to allies for 40 seconds, increasing their Water-attribute and overload damage.
Although her Core Attack can be activated for additional strikes, it doesn't trigger other specific buffs or debuffs, so if you want to use your skills and swap out quickly, a Q-E rotation is also viable. However, since her on-field time is shorter than Frieren's even when using the full Q-Core-E sequence, there is no pressing need to skip the Core Attack just to tag out immediately.

Recommended Advancements: 5-Star Advancement is effectively mandatory
It is recommended to reach at least 1-Star Advancement to use Elena Renault effectively. However, if you already own and have invested in Frieren, 1-Star Advancement may not offer enough appeal to justify deploying Elena in competitive scenarios. You need to reach 5-Star Advancement to provide her greatest strength: a permanent 25% critical hit rate and 32% critical damage buff, which also increases the magnitude of her other buffs.
At 1-Star, she gains the 'Mad Eyes' buff, which provides a permanent 5% critical hit rate and 10% critical damage increase to the entire team at the start of battle. While buffs that provide fixed percentage increases to critical stats are valuable, the low values make this somewhat underwhelming. Additionally, when an ally triggers a Water-attribute overload, it grants a 15% overload damage buff to Water-attribute team members, and using her Ultimate adds a 10% power gauge recovery effect for the whole team. She can also apply a 'Mercury Poisoning' debuff that increases incoming Water-attribute and overload damage when her Ultimate hits a Chilled target.
At 3-Star, the 'Incoming Silver' buff granted to the team upon using the E skill is enhanced, increasing Water-attribute damage by 20% and overload damage by 30%. Her Q skill now stacks 2 layers of Chill at once, and when she or any Water-attribute team member uses a Core Attack or basic skill, Elena Renault's own power gauge recovers by 10%. Given the high frequency of skill and core usage by Water-attribute dealers, Elena's Ultimate recovers very quickly.
At 5-Star, the critical hit buff granted at 1-Star is significantly boosted, with the effect strengthening to 25% critical hit rate and 32% critical damage. Since this buff is applied permanently from the moment you enter a stage, deploying Elena Renault as a supporter in Sung Jinwoo mode ensures that Jinwoo's critical stats remain significantly boosted at all times, showcasing high performance.
Additionally, the overload damage granted to team members upon a successful overload increases to 30%, and the power gauge recovers by 80% at the start of the stage, allowing for the use of her Ultimate from the very first rotation. With increased Chill stacks on her Q and an enhanced Mercury Poisoning effect on her Ultimate, this advancement level truly completes Elena Renault.

Party Composition: Primarily for Sung Jinwoo Mode and Guild Boss Battles
Due to her powerful critical hit buffs and overload-specialized effects, Elena Renault is used as a supporter in Sung Jinwoo mode to significantly boost critical stats, or paired with Frieren in content like Guild Boss battles—where many Hunters fight simultaneously—to leverage the synergy between critical buffs and debuffs.
Furthermore, as strategies utilizing attribute infusion for the Water-attribute are currently the primary approach in the expanded Simulation Gate, she is deployed in combinations with Mary Reine and the Sword Princess Cha Hae-in.
Because she possesses many buffs related to overload, she is not frequently used in combinations with the Breaker Seo Jiwoo; in such cases, the consensus is that it is better to use a well-invested Frieren.
