All Four LCK Teams Advance to Worlds 2025 Quarterfinals for the First Time in Three Years

For the first time since 2022, all four League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) teams have reached the quarterfinals of the League of Legends World Championship. The Swiss Stage, held October 22–25 at the Beijing Smart Esports Center, showcased a dominant display from the Korean region as KT Rolster, Hanwha Life Esports, Gen.G, and T1 all advanced to the knockout rounds.

KT Rolster was the first to punch its ticket to the top eight, finishing Week 1 with an undefeated 3–0 record. Hanwha Life Esports and Gen.G followed in Week 2, each closing at 3–1 after defeating CTBC Flying Oyster (PCS) and Top Esports (LPL), respectively. T1, after a shaky start at 1–2, clawed back with decisive victories over 100 Thieves and Movistar KOI to finish 3–2 and secure the final LCK slot.

2025 LoL World Championship Swiss Stage Results

Hanwha Life Esports opened Week 2 on October 22 by dispatching CTBC Flying Oyster 2–0. Mid laner Zeka (Kim Geon-woo) shone on Azir with nine kills in Game 1, while Viper (Park Do-hyeon) sealed the series with a standout Caitlyn performance. A day later, Gen.G, the world’s top-ranked team, swept Top Esports in under an hour. Support Delight (Ju Min-gyu)’s Braum engages set up clean fights for Chovy (Jeong Ji-hoon) and Ruler (Park Jae-hyuk), both of whom tallied eight kills apiece.

T1’s resurgence became one of the biggest stories of the week. Facing elimination on October 24, Oner (Moon Hyun-jun)’s Xin Zhao carried the first game against 100 Thieves, while Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok) and Gumayusi (Lee Min-hyeong) secured the sweep with strong late-game coordination. A day later, T1 swept Movistar KOI behind Faker’s flawless Azir and Ryze performances (combined 13/0/14), living up to his “Immortal Demon King” moniker.

The LCK has qualified four teams for Worlds every year since 2021, but this marks the first time since the format change to Swiss Stage in 2023 that all have advanced together. The region’s continued excellence underscores its depth and adaptability across metas and formats.

The knockout bracket revealed a blockbuster matchup: Gen.G vs. Hanwha Life Esports on October 28—a rematch of the 2025 LCK Spring Finals. KT Rolster will face CTBC Flying Oyster on October 29, while T1 takes on Anyone’s Legend on October 31. As defending world champions, T1 remains undefeated in best-of-five series against Chinese LPL teams at Worlds, a streak that fans are eager to see continue.
