Move aside Teamfight Tactics: Reckoning, it's a new day and the sun is shining bright.

On Wednesday afternoon, Riot Games unveiled the official title of the upcoming mid-set expansion, Teamfight Tactics: Dawn of Heroes. Set to go live in the upcoming weeks, the brand new update will bring in never-before-seen champions, mechanics, traits, Little Legends, and arenas.

As the first half of Set 5 focused on the Black Mist that took over, Set 5.5 will illuminate the battlefield and those on it. Out are Shadow items and in come Radiant items. Similar to Shadow Items, each Vanilla completed Item will have a Radiant version, but this time, they’ll simply be an overpowered version of the original Item with no drawbacks. Players can only receive one Radiant Item per game. However, players will get to choose their Radiant Item from a selection of five in the Radiant Armory that appears for all players at Stage 3-2.

Another new mechanic coming in Set 5.5 are Divine Blessings. Once a player drops below 40 Health, that individual will receive a golden loot orb (once per game) that has a combination of items, gold, consumables, champions and spatulas to help turn the tide.

As if that's not enough, champions will be rotating in and out of the pool with the update.

The following 12 champions are entering the battlefield for the first time in Set 5.5:

- Akshan
- Galio
- Irelia
- Miss Fortune
- Olaf
- Pyke
- Rakan
- Senna
- Tristana
- Gwen
- Fiddlesticks

With them come a new set of traits that allow players to strategize and battle in ways never seen before. Cannoneer and Sentinel are the two verticals that players can look forward to getting their hands on.

Cannoneer -- After their 5th shot, Cannoneer Champions replace their next attack with a cannon shot after dealing a percentage of their maximum Mana as physical damage to enemies near the target.

The following champions will wear the Cannoneer trait:

- Senna (1 cost)
- Tristana (2 cost)
- Miss Fortune (3 cost)
- Lucian (4 cost)

Sentinel -- At the start of combat, the Sentinel with the highest Health gains a shield that grants Attack Speed each time it is applied. When the shield is destroyed or expires it will pass to the ally with the lowest percent Health. The shield Health and the Attack Speed get bigger with more Sentinels.

The following champions will wear the Sentinel trait:

- Senna (1 cost)
- Olaf (1 cost)
- Pyke (2 cost)
- Irelia (2 cost)
- Rakan (3 cost)
- Galio (4 cost)
- Lucian (4 cost)
- Akshan (5 cost)

Players can begin testing out the new update when it goes live on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) servers later in the day.
