Infinity Nikki Version 2.4 adds time-loop story, boss fight and building systems

Infold Games has released Version 2.4 of Infinity Nikki, introducing a new story chapter, combat additions and open-world building features to the dress-up adventure game. According to a release, the update — titled The Forest Need Not Listen — added Infinity Nikki’s first time-loop narrative chapter, alongside what the company described as darker fairy tale themes.

The new chapter took players and the characters Nikki and Momo into the Misty Forest, where a funeral repeatedly replayed as part of the update’s central mystery. According to the release, the pair encountered figures including the ‘Mad Red Riding Hood’ and the ‘Big Dark Wolf’ as they investigated the source of the forest’s curse.

Beyond the new story content, Version 2.4 also expanded the game’s combat systems. According to the release, players were able to challenge a new boss called the ‘Scavenger’ in a multi-phase fight featuring changing arenas and closer-range encounters. The update also marked the first time Momo could be used as a battle companion. By equipping different cloaks, Momo could take on close-range and ranged roles, with abilities that could be upgraded through progression.

Alongside the combat update, Infold Games introduced a new five-star Resonance Outfit called She Is Wildfire. According to the release, the outfit was inspired by a darker version of Little Red Riding Hood and granted the ability ‘Hunting Elegy: Battle Companion,’ allowing players to summon the Moon-Hunting Wolf in combat. Outside battle, the wolf could also be used for traversal.

Version 2.4 also added a new construction and management system in Itzaland. According to the release, players could build and customise locations such as beauty salons, baths and drink shops using the ‘Itzaland Blueprint: Construction’ ability. In addition, players could manage those businesses, generate income and unlock rewards through upgrades. The update also introduced a faction system, allowing players to recruit non-playable characters (NPCs), develop their skills and assign them to run shops.

The release of Version 2.4 marked another major content update for Infinity Nikki, a title that blended platforming, puzzle-solving, dress-up and exploration. Developed by Infold Games, the game is the fifth entry in the Nikki series and is available on PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Infold Games is the international brand created by Papergames. According to the release, the company is also working on other projects including Ballad of Antara and Project: The Perceiver.
