The Epic Games Store is once again offering the PC version of 'Hogwarts Legacy' for free.

The Epic Games Store will offer Hogwarts Legacy for free until 12:00 AM on May 4th. Once added to your account during this period, the game is yours to keep permanently without any purchase required.

This free giveaway is tied to the 25th anniversary of the film 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.' It is not a standalone promotion but part of a broader commemorative event for the entire Harry Potter series. Given that the initial giveaway last December caused server crashes due to overwhelming traffic, this serves as a second chance for fans who missed out.

Developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG released in February 2023. Set in the late 19th century at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the game expanded the existing Wizarding World lore and became a massive hit, surpassing 30 million copies sold. Around the time of last year's Epic Games Store giveaway, it was announced that sales had topped 40 million units.

Following this success, Warner Bros. identified a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy as one of its most important upcoming titles during a conference. Reports from outlets like Bloomberg have also confirmed that Avalanche is currently working on a sequel.

Warner Bros. is also producing an HBO series that will adapt each book of the Harry Potter series into a dedicated season. The first season, scheduled for release this Christmas, will share the title of the first book, 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.' Warner Bros. previously told Variety that it is coordinating some story elements between the game and the HBO series, signaling plans to integrate the game more deeply into the Wizarding World franchise.
