SEGA Publishing Korea (CEO Ko Saito, hereafter "SEGA") announced its official participation in 'MGM IP UNIVERSE 2026,' a project to renew Mario Outlet in Gasan-dong, Seoul, into an experiential IP mall.
Kicking off on Friday, May 1, 'MGM IP UNIVERSE 2026' is a large-scale project that brings together major intellectual properties from Korea and Japan to combine shopping with entertainment.
As the first phase of the project, SEGA will open an exclusive pop-up shop and a mini-museum on the 5th floor of Mario Outlet's Building 1. Notably, the 'SEGA STORE,' which received an enthusiastic response from global fans in Tokyo and Shanghai last year, will make its domestic debut in a pop-up format at Mario Outlet, raising high expectations among fans.
The pop-up store will feature a wide array of character merchandise from popular titles representing SEGA and ATLUS, including #1 Sonic the Hedgehog, #2 Like a Dragon, #3 HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!, #4 Puyo Puyo, and the #5 Persona series. In addition to original merchandise featuring the SEGA logo, the store will also offer popular items previously available only at the 'SEGA Store Tokyo' in Japan.
The 'mini-museum' operating alongside the pop-up shop will showcase valuable materials that encompass the history of SEGA's gaming culture. The exhibit will shed light on SEGA's journey from various perspectives, featuring history boards documenting the company's past, iconic hardware and arcade machines from bygone eras, and major game software.
Furthermore, a dedicated photo zone recreating the unique gaming sensibility and lifestyle of the 1990s will be installed to provide visitors with special memories. Detailed information regarding admission tickets, including special benefits, will be provided in a separate announcement at a later date.
