"I am so happy that I will continue to play in a T1 uniform in front of T1 fans. Skill is important, but I believe that for a T1 player, one's conduct off the stage matters just as much. I will show you that I have grown both inside and outside the game."
Ryu 'Keria' Min-seok has once again expressed his joy over signing a three-year contract extension with T1.
Inven met with Keria at LoL Park in Jonggak on the 29th, shortly after T1's victory against Nongshim RedForce in the first round of the 2026 LCK regular season. After sharing his excitement about the team's four-game winning streak, he discussed his recent contract extension.
"I'll be with T1 for three more years, through 2029," Keria said, sharing his honest thoughts. "Thankfully, we were on the same page, which made the contract extension possible. I'm so happy that I can continue to wear the T1 uniform and play in front of our fans."
The news of the extension was announced via a video during the fan meeting held after the home game, with a twist that initially hinted at a departure, adding to the emotional impact for fans. His stellar performance, which earned him the Player of the Match (POM) title at the home venue, further added to the narrative.
Keria laughed as he added, "I had hoped to announce it on home ground, but T1 took the initiative and prepared everything before I even brought it up. When I first saw the concept, I was a bit worried. They told me they wanted to add a twist with a 'Thank You' message, and I wondered if it would work. I'm relieved the reaction seems to have been quite positive."
He added, "Honestly, our performance was a bit shaky on Saturday, and since BNK FearX is a strong team, I was very worried about Sunday's match. That's why I gritted my teeth and worked even harder. When I even received the POM, I felt like it was truly my day. I think I was lucky."
With this contract, Keria extends his tenure with T1 to a remarkable nine years. When asked if he ever imagined staying with one team for so long, he began, "Even before I became a pro gamer, I really wanted to stay with one team for a long time, but I knew it wouldn't be easy."
He explained that he is someone who is sensitive to his environment and feared that staying in one place for too long might lead to complacency and stunted growth. However, his experience at T1 changed that perspective.
Keria explained, "As I continued with T1, I realized that the team's flexible direction suited me well. I felt so comfortable and happy here that my mindset changed. The benefits and the strong fandom have given me unforgettable memories, and I wanted to give back. That's why I keep staying with T1."
He also shared his thoughts on the title of "world's best support." He said, "Honestly, it would be a lie to say that title isn't mine. However, if I keep thinking that way, I might become arrogant. While I do think I am the best, I always try to maintain the will to keep improving."
When asked what he still wants to achieve, Keria replied, "In terms of the game, because the patches change constantly, I feel there is always something new to learn. Outside of the game, I want to focus more on what helps the team rather than just what helps me, and I think that's what I've been doing lately."
Keria concluded the interview with a message to the fans: "I have so many happy memories from my time at T1, and I am always grateful to the fans. I will continue to show consistent, high-level performance over the next three years. I believe that for a T1 player, how you carry yourself off the stage is just as important as your in-game skill. I will show you that I have grown both inside and outside the game, so please continue to support me. Thank you."
