Harrisburg University of Science and Technology will host third annual Pennsylvania Cup featuring collegiate esports teams from across PA competing in Overwatch and League of Legends from February 27-28. The collegiate esports tournament will take place entirely online this year due to complications and restrictions caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the unprecedented hurdles of COVID-19, Harrisburg University's Esports team, the HU Storm, displayed true commitment, passion, and resiliency by advancing to the Tespa Collegiate Overwatch National Championship set for 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18. Read more on their success here:
Global Esports and the Harrisburg University Storm have entered a new partnership. The partnership between the one of the leading programs in collegiate esports and the Indian Overwatch organization, who currently own a Contenders team as well as Team India for the Overwatch World Cup, is unique both in its cross-competitive tier and cross-continental establishment.
Harrisburg University Storm took home the top honor of “Best Collegiate Esports Program” during the Tempest Awards Gala in Las Vegas, NV. The Pennsylvania powerhouse beat out other collegiate esports programs like Maryville University, UC Irvine, UC Berkley and University of Utah.
